New permissions? Why does TPA now need location information?

With the Safe Cracker update TPA now wants access to Fine (GPS) and Coarse (Wi-Fi, Cell-ID) Location data. Why is this? I consider this unacceptable. I can see no valid reason why this game needs to be tracking our location.

Also, the privacy policy link on the Amazon page leads nowhere.

I believe the ad service we use in our game tracks your location so that it can give you ads that are relevant to your general area.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

TPA has had an ad-supported "table of the month" for a long time but these permissions are new. I purchased all the tables so that I would not have to deal with things like ads and tracking. I'm not interested in paying for software that is tracking me. It's seeming like I won't be buying any future tables/packs on this platform. I wonder if I can rollback to the previous version, which doesn't have these intrusive permissions, even though I would lose access to Safe Cracker (which I've already paid for).

You're already being tracked for things without your permission.

Can't you turn off location services on your device?
