New PS3 Slim Model Pics

What seems to be a picture of a weird-looking new PS3 popped up. The image depicts a PS3-labeled device with a ridged texture and what appears to be a sliding panel on top – perhaps indicating a cheaper top-loading disc drive.

Sony always strips off the automatic tray mechanisms by model 3 revisions , they did it with PS2 , the 3rd model is the cheapest no frills version with LED lights missing and some other cost cutting bare bones design. So expect a "amazing price cut" come Xmas , but remember the old slim models are probably made of better parts and has a few more features. Plus the old slim will have more compatible acessories , like cardreaders and cooling fans , and vertical stands (all which I use).

After the trouble FS has with the 360, this is looking mighty nice. There's also all those Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream titles, which are THE reason to own a PS2.

RIBBED for your pleasure. The sliding top will help with not hitting the power while taking a disc out. Need to see it to the existing slim. MAYBE a small SSHD trying to push sales for PS+ cloud storage for NEW users that will come with a lower price point.

SSHD drives are suceptible to power outages that totally wipe the drive , I don't think Sony or any other consoles will be implementing them . BAD TECH , also since it's essentially a giant flash based drive , SSDs probably have memory degradation over time (that's conjecture not fact)

There aren't any performance gains to be made with a SSHD, and cloud storage with PS+ is only for save files, and you only get 250 MB.

But if you think smaller than the existing slim you gotta go laptop materials,+cloud and it has to be as expensive or MORE than a VITA! The "MODELO" suggests its a pre-desing for a EURO MARKET. This aswell as the pictures refference is all speculative. The ribs on a slidding top would help keep it inline.

And maybe one day we'll get The Last Guardian. Want to talk about delays. I've been waiting for that one since Shadow of the Colossus. :)
