more information about the thread can be found under the table. on the PAPA.org video search page you will find a lot more videos then those listed below; e.g. tournament videos that, in the words of serenseven, "often [are] just as informative as the Tutorial videos."

1) the definition of EM and SS games can be found in the IPDB Glossary
2) PAPA.org have no videos or rulesheet of the game but RetroDude has provided links to other resources in this post; thanks!

the following request was made in another thread:

Just an idea but I think it would be cool if there was a video of the real table and how it plays. This way people who have not played the real table get a taste of what the original was like. Might also make the rule explanation a little more interesting.

as others pointed out this will probably never be included in TPA itself, but there are great resources online. so I decided to put together the following table with links to the -- for TPA players -- relevant tables.

the table name itself will lead to the post in The Internet Pinball Database (IPDB) where you find more information about and some photos of the table. IPDB also provide a list of table abbreviations (found here) and of the top rated tables as voted by the pinball community online (found here).

both the videos and rulesheets are links to the information found on PAPA.org; if there is no link it's simply 'cus they have none published as of now. if no tutorial video was found but they do have a video of gameplay I included a link to that instead. but remember there usually are both more videos and other rulesheets to be found on the PAPA.org page then the one linked to above.

I also want to recomend PiN WiZ very informative thread Latest NEWS And INFORMATION From FarSight Studios Concerning The Pinball Arcade. there you can find information about which tables have been released on what platform(s), among many other things. be sure to check it out and subscribe to it!

I compiled this with the hope it can provide help, tips or information and make your time with TPA even more fun and valuable. I take no credit for this and all props should be given to the people who provided the information in the first place. but please let me know if you find any broken links -- or anything else for that matter; language, missing table, etc. -- in this post and I will update it.

Nice work!

thanks, appreciate it. let me know if you have any idea how to improve it. I have added the upcoming and announced tables from PiN WiZ thread and the IPDB ranking for each table. can you confirm that the Big Shot table FarSight have announced is this one?

I agree. Fantastic. pinball.org has a wealth of videos. Nice to have an easy link to them for those that don't know about it.

Applause! :D

Also, while anyone is rummaging through pinball.org's extensive video collection, I highly recommend the Tournament videos. They're often just as informative as the Tutorial videos.

It's not a true confirmation, as I don't know what FarSight's plans are, but it's likely to be that one.

That table was one of those in their previously released Pinball Hall of Fame: Gottlieb Collection.

I particularly like that table and play it all the time on the old Wii version of the PHOF:GC.

thanks for the information. guess it's a reasonable guess that's the one if it was released in PHOF:GC so until told otherwise I will leave as it is in the OP table. since you enjoyed the table you seem like a good person to ask if you have seen any rulesheet online. if so pls let me know and I will update the OP, cheers.

It's a real nice early 70s EM machine. Pretty wide-open play. Great game to practice flipper catches, aimed shots and your nudging.

As with most EM machines of that vintage, the rules are pretty brief.

The IPDB link has a zip file of instruction & score cards that pretty well covers most of them. The PHOF:GC does have the rules listed in the program, but there's not a webpage that lists them that I am aware of.

Here's a video walk-through of the game on PS2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ-Gg4RqnMQIt shows the history screen, steps through the rules and shows a bit of game play.

Some game play of a Hot Shot machine (4 player version of Big Shot): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXRZ6adoSAU

Not a walk-through or instructional video, but here's a video slide-show of a Hot Shot restoration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpsS5IqlTWE

Probably none of this is info that you can use in your great chart, but hey... I'll be an evangalist for classic EM games!

I can confirm that it is indeed Gottlieb's 1973 Big Shot that was featured on FarSight's Pinball Hall of Fame : The Gottlieb Collection.
