I picked 5. Evel Knievel, Joker Poker (never actually played this one), Kiss, Eightball Deluxe, and Cyclone.
This list is full of the machines I played in the early eighties. I'd love to see a lot of these.

I don't think it's really fair to include System 11 games in this list (F-14, Fire, Cyclone) because they're not really "early" SS games (they use alphanumerics instead of digits only). Besides, there's already a poll for them.

Yeah, there's quite a difference between late 70's and late 80's SS machines.

You said it Jeff. IMO, there's a huge difference between say Close Encounters... and Xenon. And they're only two years apart. This list is a little off the wall.

Seriously there really should be more older SS table. I know that a majority of people prefers DMD table but I think farsight should not ignore the others. I know I would prefer any of these table over RBION.

I only know a couple of these tables (maybe about 6 or 7 of them) but I'd love to see some older tables too. I love the toys and gadgets and all the modes of newer tables, and even more all the music, voice clips and dmd animations, but they don't have the same awesome art and themes I love so much from the 70's and 80's. I'd buy Centaur and Fathom in a heartbeat (alot faster than Harley Davidson! but to each his own!) I didn't want to vote on the poll until I check out some of the other machines you listed, which could be potentially awesome.
I guess Centaur had a much smaller production run that I'd thought. A few good ones that had high runs that are missing, though, would be Space Invaders, Amazing Spider-Man, Future Spa, and Eight Ball. Grand Lizard is better than any of these though, but if system 11 is too late then give me Solar Fire, which was similar layout.

Bally produced 5250 units between the original Centaur and Centaur II, which was the same game re-released in 1983 with a smaller backbox as a cost-saving measure. The early 80s were a pretty desperate time for pinball; manufacturers were slashing costs and releasing low-volume production runs in an attempt to survive, and a lot of games got sequels or remakes (Centaur II, Eight Ball Deluxe, Firepower II) as they were cheaper to develop than a table from scratch.
Which method unfortunately left off Spectrum, a little-loved (only ~500 units sold out of 994 produced) yet amazingly fun cross between pinball and Mastermind (a color-code guessing game). Basically there are four colors and you have to guess the computer's code by hitting the appropriately colored drop target bank, while avoiding the wrong color banks once you discover what those are. Combined with an odd playfield - no plunger (the right flipper button fires the ball up out of the center drain), no outlanes, and hidden areas along the sides with locked balls that get fired out so the player doesn't have to wait for the ball to descend the length of the table to resume action - it's delightfully quirky.

As people frequenting these forums know I'm nuts for the '78 Bally Playboy Pinball , because my brother owns a real machine , and I know it to be a cool SS table with simple playfield , and a great theme . Then theres F-14 TomCat which Ive seen on videos , Evel Kneivel just want a table base on him , and Mata Hari. I chose 4 even though he didnt set a limit , just want to be fair to the pollster .

I find it interesting the newer machines poll higher, is it because popularity or actual played experience? I would like to see the amount of tables made in a separate list not to add confusion but my guess is A. The newer machines are more appealing and B. More mass produced adding to the NASTALGIA factor for people who play video games today. Im guessing there are fewer EM players still play VIDEO GAMES.

I'm a total sucker for licensed pins forms the 70s and 80s. I know a table pack with Kiss, Charlie's Angels or Playboy would be a big seller with a simpler table and easier devlopment. Not too mention the licensing seems more than doable. How much could Flash Gordon really cost? Timothy Dalton needs money.
