PP fix for AMD gpus

Well this is a definite fix for PP problems with AMD cards.

Install older drivers! AMD messed up the drivers along the way (I am sure of it since there are no problems with Nvidia and Intel cards! - tested it personally).

Tested with my Radeon 7950.

BTW the new AMD drivers have the pixelated effect in new games like Battlefield 4 also!!

OK, which Catalyst package did you download? Has anyone tried turning of in-game AA and force AA from the catalyst control panel?
Btw. anyone tried 11/7/2013 beta drivers? Larry mentioned they fix the pp issue.

I tried those newer ones, didn't have any luck. I also just rolled back to 12.10 from Sept last year... no dice. Will try from the start of last year, see what happens.

I was more looking for a version of CCC which has the driver bundled in. This is for your HD 7900 though

Tried every possible combination nothing helps except old drivers

Thanks for the feedback, I also have a HD7950.
But as I said before, I have mixed feelings about this solution, because my 13.11 beta driver gives me
better performance in other games and as you know, everyone's always telling you to use the latest.
Also, AMD Mantle is coming soon and it will probably require an up to date package.

Yes I agree, its not an ideal solution but its the only one that currenty works. Hope somebody fixes this very soon (Fairsight with a workaround or AMD), because I also hate to have old drivers installed... I am also amazed that Fairsight
isnt prioritiziong to resolve this issue, since I am sure anybody with an amd card hates the fact that pp isnt working correctly and in many cases refuses to buy this product based on that.

Yeah, same here. If TPA was the only game I played then this would be an ok solution, but it's not.

Well, I tried drivers as old as March last year, still didn't have any luck. I might try older ones again, but it might be similar to the solution another PAF member posted that didn't work for me.

Thanks for the tips. I have a 7700 card, and the problem seems to occur for me with the 13.xx drivers. The 8.x, 9.x, and 12.x versions that were on my system work ok with proper anti-aliasing. I'll use 12.102.3.0 unless I encounter an issue with other games. (so far, so good)

I removed all CCC drivers (not sure if this was necessary), and then from the Display adapter in Device Manager, chose update drivers, "Browse my computer..." , and finally "Let me pick...".

Unfortunately, there is something wrong with that first thread that Biff posted. (The URL itself is valid as even through Google I got an invalid thread error.)
As far as that second thread, I started that one. I have found since then that MSI (which manufactured my video card with the AMD HD7770 chipset) is providing for download that same 9.012 / 9.12 driver that worked for me. Here is how you can get to it:

1) go to : http://us.msi.com/product/vga/R7770-Power-Edition-1GD5-OC.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win8 64
2) Click on Download tab's dropdown - Driver
3) OS: Win 7 64 or Win 7 32
4) Download the one on top that says "MSI Graphics Driver 9.012 (AMD_9012_v78_vga.zip)". I don't know why MSI is showing a Release date of 2013-10-15, since in actuality (based on what I had seen at the AMD site), this one seems to have been provided to the public by AMD somewhere between Sept2012-Jan2013.

I have not installed the above as I already had it on my PC. I only downloaded it recently so I have a backup.

Note: If you decide to use it, I don't know if you can install an older driver on top of a new one. You may have to remove your new driver first.

Sigh- I have mixed feelings about this approach too. But I have posted here how to get to that particular old AMD driver, so you can at least temporarily test with it to see how it looks on your PC with TPA.

i would not recommend installing old drivers when u want to play other new games

i tried to force the ati driver to use aa
and switched it off in tpa but seems the settings in ccc has no effect on tpa
