Question about Extra Ball(s)

I read that 8 loops in the right ramp awards an extra ball, but has this to be done without interruption ? In other words successively or may a shot be missed in between ?

no, right ramp shots don't have to be successive. it's LEFT ramp shots that do. right ramp shots are tracked by total hit throughout the game.

And i do believe it lights the extra ball, not scores it.
