• The Getaway: High Speed II now available!

The Getaway: High Speed II™ has just been released for Steam (Mac/Windows) and Google Play, Amazon and Ouya!

iOS is delayed but should be released in the coming days.

The Getaway: High Speed II™ (1992): is the spectacular sequel to High Speed™, released in 1986 and also designed by Steve Ritchie. Players shift into high gear as they start Multi-Ball by running red lights and then collect Jackpots to escape from the pursuing police. A standout feature on this table is the Supercharger magnetic ball accelerator, which spins balls at dizzying speeds for wild excitement and scores! An actual gear shifter on the front of the cabinet launches balls onto the playfield and shifts through features during game play. 13,259 units of this table were produced.

Where's the key to shift into higher gears in the video mode? The plunger button shifts into lower gears only and the mouse doesn't shift up in video modes. You can't really do the video mode properly without putting it in 5th gear, IMO. Maybe it would work with a controller, but I can't find a way to do it with the keyboard in video mode (the only time you need to shift into a higher gear in the game as far as I know).

Looks like FarSight didn't update the Controls description page for the Getaway,
just lifted from a previous game... They need to disclose how to Shift Up and Down...

Shifting up is accomplished with the 'extra' action button (ie. the same that activates Magna Save in Black Knight 2000 or performs the cheat in JackBot). It's the quote key '
      (next to the Enter key).
