Look, I think T3 is fun, but it's also nearly the exact layout of T2. That's why I didn't want Firepower II.

No one's posted the hint image yet?

I know it's generally agreed to be Pistol Poker, but I'd like to see the hint for myself to be sure.

Thanks, Dedpop. No doubt about it, you guys were right.

While I'm glad that a machine with only 200 units made is getting preserved, it seems like they're only getting hard-to-find games now...which begs the question about Big Bang Bar, but my gut tells me that it's Capcom legal issues holding that game up. Especially given Capcom's Street Fighter deal with Zen.

Do you have a source/link to that?

IIRC the only thing preventing the Capcom games being done was the emulation being too resource intensive. However, unless the emulation programmer, Steve Ellenoff (?), pops in for another Q&A or we get something better than marketing speak from FarSight it's all speculation given the state of things post Ghostbusters now; given how CPU greedy it is.

Capcom themselves no longer hold any rights over their pinball tables, they were sold to someone else a long time ago.

The only issue might be with the use of the Capcom name and logo itself.

Wasn't it Gene Cunningham that purchased the licensing for the Capcom machines, specifically Big Bang Bar?

That's the guy. There was a whole long story published about him a while ago. Fascinating read, if someone can dig it up.

Based on this article about Gene Cunnigham and BBB, Gene doesn't own anything anymore. However, it just leaves the actual ownership of the Capcom rights that much more unclear.

There is a rumor floating around (think I heard it on Kaneda’s pinball podcast) that the makers of The Pinball Circus Remake (Circus Maximus), will be making Capcom’s Kingpin next. So maybe they now have the rights? I can’t confirm any of this though. But Kaneda knows a ton of people and is usually correct.

According to U.S. Patent & Trademark Office records, Illinois Pinball Corp. applied for the the trademark "BIG BANG BAR" in International Class 28 (pinball-type games) in 2013, and the USPTO approved and registered the mark on July 1, 2014.

On June 11, 2017, IPC assigned all rights in the mark "BIG BANG BAR" to Planetary Pinball Supply, Inc. in Sparks, Nevada, just outside of Reno. It looks like PPS also hold the rights to Kingpin.

No I don't, that was just speculation on my part, regarding Farsight digitizing rare machines.

Pistol Poker is #270 on Pinside's top solid-state pinballs. I figured they were all "oh crap, we might not get another chance on this machine--let's preserve it while we can!"

Who knows, maybe it'll be a pleasant surprise, like High Roller Casino or Frankenstein.

Whenever I have mentioned Big Bang Bar or any Capcom table to the guys at FarSight, they've never given any indication that getting the rights to them is an issue. The only issue has been what Spork said, them being resource intensive, which as he also pointed out seems to be moot given what GB requires.
