According to Farsight's facebook page, as part of their 12 days of Christmas there will be a 50% discount on Table Pack 3 in a couple weeks...

Unfortunately that's not even worth it for tables that i'll probably never play. I tried the demos and BBH was the only one I kind of wanted to play a little longer, but it's just too slow and boring now... I always have PBA a pass because the tables Zen was doing was all original tables that they created. So I didn't care to much about the physics and ball speed during that time and just coughed it up to, "Zen's is a little faster because it's their own original tables"

But after the Williams tables came out from Zen and the physics was even better than the original tables and waaayyy more like like, it's just too hard to play PBA now...

I only do it now just to see how easy it is compared to the versions on Zen, the small art changes, and to see just how much better they look...

Let's face it, Farsight was skating by and able to get away with mediocre tables, physics, lighting, graphics, etc.... because they were the ONLY ones doing real tables, so we just accepted that their physics were probably closer to real tables and Zen's was more arcade like...

Now they got exposed because not only do the tables look extremely better on the same systems/consoles that PBA is on, but the physics just blows them out of the competition... Especially if you go play one of these tables in real life after playing the digital versions and you will right away see the FX3 versions are way more life like...

The ONLY way that I would have considered getting these tables is if they were released on the Stern PBA version as those physics are much better and a lot closer to real tables and closer to Zen's... For whatever reasons, the regular PBA version is just waaayyy to slow... Go play Ghostbusters on both versions and you'll see that the Stern PBA version is much faster and looks better... And that goes for all the other tables that got ported from Stern PBA to the regular PBA version... Also it seems like the ball size on the regular PBA for those tables is slightly smaller... Its weird...

I just hope this motivates Farsight to make a better product. They were lucky all those years as being the only company to replicate digital versions of real tables and that's why we went to them and we just ignored the issues because we didn't have anything else to compare them to, but now that we do, the only advantage they have is they still have tables Zen doesn't have..... Yet...

It's really hard to say if Farsight is going to recoop from this... I think it's safe to say that they definitely are not going to do any major improvements to the current console versions... We'll be lucky if they even finish fixing some of the bugs that keep coming up with each patch... We can't even pause the game now or we lose the sound/music, there are huge game crashing bugs now that blue screen the PS4 when playing, plus all the other little things like missing plunger rods... Remember that a lot of those was supposed to be fixed right away, but got delayed and pushed back again till who knows when now...

It's hard to keep trying to support a company/developer if they don't show that they even care... If we knew all the profits went to Tom as like a bonus, then I think most of us would just because he's like the only one that's trying to give it the support it needs, but I guarantee they probably also have him working on other things and we can't fault him for that...

We've already complained to our hearts content to Farsight, made suggestions and requests, but they've been ignored, the only thing left is to let them know with our wallets and hopefully that will wake them up...

Even though I say I wouldn't repurchase all the tables again on the next consoles if they come out on those, but if they made a whole new version like PBA 2 and completely redid everything and was on Zen's level of quality then I probably would get them again, or the ones that we could get... So we'll see what happens, but not even 70% off would get me to pull the trigger because I know I wouldn't play them after the first couple of times after getting them...

Sad to totally agree. TPA was nice, but man the weak sauce delivery continued after their debacle with my XBox 360.

I swore Ripleys played better in Stern Arcade, but one of the moderators here disputed that.

Is there any mention of this discount for Steam or is it just for Playstation 4? I tried checking myself, but I don't have a Facebook account and couldn't find the 50% discount announcement.

Indeed. I won't be buying them either. I actually haven't touched TPA anymore since the first Williams tables got released by ZEN. There is just no going back.
The only solution? Make a complete new revamped engine... But I doubt it's going to happen.

I'm sure you're right. I played mostly high roller casino, and it was better in stern tpa too. Shots go where I aimed and catching etc lot better. Easy to check the difference too. Just hold up flipper and flip as fast as you can. Notice how much the flipper drops down before going back up. On stern tpa, if I hold up flipper and drop the flipper and flip it back up as fast as I can and keep repeating this, I have the flipper drop just the tiniest bit before going back up. On normal pinball arcade the flipper drops down much much more, pretty much to downward position before flipping back up.

I still play TPA quite a bit, I own almost all the tables (all but a couple of the most recent Sterns), and there are some really great implementations in there. I really like their implementation of 80s SS machines (EBD, Xenon, Sorcerer, Centaur, etc.).

I play mostly on Android though, so once the Zen Williams tables come over to Android I'm not sure what will happen. But I see myself continuing to play TPA, especially if they continue releasing new content. If not, I will probably continue to play until they turn off the servers.
