The game looks much better on my device with the mip mapping turned off. Does the same apply to the device you play TPA on?

it's also meant to reduce shimmering effects (moire patterns) and artifacts when further away

On my Gallaxytab2 it makes the difference between crisp playfield art (off) or pixelated low-res texturemaps (if switched on).

same here: mip-mapping off is the way to go on Samsung Galaxy S2. Otherwise the top part of the playfield looks really blurry...

Turning it off disables the performance gains and enables the shiny. I still think this menu option should be changed to something more user friendly.

I commented on this in the beta build that originally featured it, but don't know that it was seen.
