A poll to see what your most desired newer Stern pins are. Please choose your top five. I had to make some changes due to the limit of 30 entries. Obviously, no older Stern tables. I can do another poll for them. I did not include Ripley's (already available) or Harley Davidson (strongly rumored). I also had to cut a couple others that were copies (Shrek copied from Family Guy) or I just didn't think they 'd be that popular. I left out Striker Extreme based on it's very low ratings on pinside.com. By all means please mention them in a post if you really want them.

To tack a question onto this poll, is TPA capable of emulating tables right upto and including the current releases or has the technology moved past a point that TPA has ROM emulation for so far?

Cool poll. I am definitely interested in the pulse of our forum on stern games. My understanding is they are not yet successful in emulating games based on the newest stern system (S.A.M.) but they can do all the sega whitestar system. not sure where the modified whitestar falls that was used in transition to SAM but I imagine it would be reasonably close to the original whitestar with some tweets.

Ripley's is modified Whitestar, according to ipdb, so Pinball Arcade supports it.

Looking at ipdb there were 6 tables based on modified Whitestar, Ripley's, Soprano's, LOTR, Nascar, Grand Prix and Elvis. Does that mean we won't be seeing anything above those in the list (newer) unless Farsight work out how to emulate the newer tech?

Whitestar was retired in 2005. World Poker Tour, Pirates of the Caribbean, and all tables released in 2006 or later use S.A.M., while any tables made between 2000 and 2005 use modified Whitestar.

I here they are working on the S.A.M. hardware and hopefully in a year or two or much sooner they will be coming on the pinball Arcade. The S.A.M. games i've played and really loved are Family Guy (Shrek), Spiderman, Batman, Pirates of the caribean, Tron Lagacy, Transformers, Big Buck Hunter Pro, Wheel Of Fortune, and ironman was ok. Indiana Jones was ok but not great. The ones i have not been able to find and play are World Poker Tour, Avatar, CSI, 24, Rollong Stones, NBA, and AC/DC maybe some of those will make it on here to. I would love to play Avatar, CSI, and 24, the others i'd take em or leave em. Well that's my little pinball adventure with S.A.M. pinball machines, talk to you all later.

Iron Man is not that bad of a game, per se, but it can be cruel. The inlane/outlane dividers are below the level of the slingshots, so any ball that finds its way over there is almost guaranteed to drain. It's bad enough to be compared to ST:TNG's outlanes.

Avatar is a game that looks great and has some super cool toys but it was drain city. They had it set for 5 balls plus ball save. Lost about 7 out of 10 from the first game (every plunge shot managed to drain). The game was actually fun once you get some momentum. Good multiball too. I matched for a free game and same thing happened. I found iron man similar but not quite as drain happy. Rolling stones is one of the worst designs I've ever experienced.
