Ghostbusters pinball feedback

Ghostbusters highlights the humor of the original Ghostbusters film released in 1984. It was designed by John Trudeau to be easy to play but difficult to master

Just like in TPA, no table on earth (either real or digital) is going to appeal to everyone. I commend Farsight for doing this table. I personally feel it's well done and pretty fun. Is it worth pumping real money into to play it like we play TPA? Again, that's going to depend on the individual. Personally, I will definitely play it but I really doubt I'll spend real money for the tokens...I'll use the free tokens, of course but spending more on this table when I already have over 50 tables at my disposal seems a bit silly. But then again, the Ghostbusters table doesn't really seem geared towards you typical TPA fans. It may be more of a table for the casual player...which is probably Farsight's intention in the first place.

I wish Haunted House was tuned as well and played as well as GB. Hurts me to say that as I'm such a fan of the real life Haunted House pin.
I don't mind that they made some changes to make the pin a little easier. This will make it more accessible to a casual player. Multiball is great fun. And I like the audio and use of the theme. I still would like an option to just flat out buy the pin though.

Maybe a mod could merge this with one of the other threads for ghostbusters opinions.

Garycope, what specifically don't you like a bout it? Theme, modding an existing pin, token system, artwork, the rules? Not saying you have to like it, just curious as to what turned you off about it.

They should stick to real table simulations

Even though I agree, it honestly doesn't hurt to branch out and see if they can attract new fans. If this gets enough attention and positive reviews, I'd expect more, and I'd expect them to no longer be free. lol

For me, the table just looks and plays really goofy. I've rarely been a fan of these types of pinball tables, much like Zen. I've always been willing to give them a try, though, but most just suck. I remember being excited for "Sonic Spinball" for the Genesis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX8Ldy0obW4), "Pinball Dreams" for the SNES (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idi1viGGDRI), and "KISS Pinball" for the PSone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5OvFGx-EOc), ALL of them were terrible. I even tried the Zen stuff, and again, I just find myself being bored.

I honestly think the only non, real life pinball I've ever enjoyed were "Space Cadet" for the PC (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ww4s_c2gCzs), "Epic Pinball" for the PC (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ythTarz4DyQ), and "Super Pinball" for the SNES (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfJPXd-SC_0).

I WILL say, however, that I LOVE the proton plunger and streams that follow the initial ball. I thought that was pretty genius. The train image/quotes on the lower level was a nice surprise as well. Beyond that, it's just not for me.

It looks kind of cheap. But fun. But cheap. It's not Orbals, though.

Maybe if FS had designed an original table with this Ghostbusters theme...

But hey, in some way, it's free. :p

I just downloaded this and truth be told I would have paid for this table. I have played the other Ghostbusters game apps on the iTunes app store and this is way better. It appears you only have to wait 4 hours for the free token award and to me that seems totally fair!

We shall see if it's indeed 4 hours. I have under one hour to go for my free credit and I'll verify if I indeed get two for having TPA installed.

BTW, there's no cheating on this app...the game's timer is somehow synced to your iDevice, likely through a purchase time key/code/UUID...even if you totally delete the app, then reinstall it, you will NOT reset the game's timer, nor will you get 10 credits again either. The game is tied to a single particular device (not through Wi-Fi either...turning it off has no effect) so each device is on it's own timer and token system. Very ingenius, Farsight!

I'm all for Farsight continuing to explore this game model, especially if it's with the Sony film license, but not at the expense of the simulations. i feel like the last several months of tables have been super buggy upon release. and really bad since lights camera action. If they were spread too thin because of this Ghostbusters mod then it was 100% not worth it.
