I'd swap MonsterBash or Circus Voltaire with CentralPark but, otherwise, that's a top five I can endorse – each of those tables has been an obsession for me at some point, even if they've fallen from my favor since. Rating FirePower so low gives me pause and almost offends my sensibilities, but I can forgive that since you have TX Sector up as high as I do.

Just thinking out loud, but maybe we could re-set the table ratings in the way that some people have suggested re-setting the leaderboards. I bet there are a lot of folks who haven't bothered to rethink and re-sort their earlier seasons votes. It might shake up the top tier rankings a bit.

Well, probably not, on second glance. The top 15/20 are probably locked in. And maybe having to fill out the questionaire – now that it's so long – might seem like too much homework. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.

Monster Bash: The gameplay and artwork is actually pretty well done. It's just that the voices are so godawful they really bring down the rating. I don't know who they were (the girl sounds like she also did the voices in Medieval Madness. I'd like to think they were done by someone else because the voices sound awesome in that game), but they were overpaid. >.< Basically it was a rotten apple that spoiled the whole barrel.

Cirqus Voltaire: The artwork, voices, and sounds was actually pretty cool, but the table had kind of a tragic flaw: If you went through that loop behind the Ringmaster's head from right to left, it went straight down the middle. Medieval Madness' left peasant ramp, Black Knights one or both right ramps, and Tales of the Arabian Nights loop (every so often) had that same issue as well. I was forced to nudge - and risk getting a tilt warning, ludicrous as that might sound - to keep the ball from draining. Like Monster Bash, this too was a "rotten apple".

Firepower - The table itself is actually pretty good, with one of the most balanced inlane/outlanes I've seen, kinda like Black Knight. The rotten apple here is that damn kickback. It starts off turned off, meaning you have to to turn it on. . . . by hitting ALL 6 spot targets (inb4 git gud) (EDIT: rating went up to 4. it's only the 1-2-3 or the 4-5-6 that's needed, not all 6. Sure seemed like it though). And even when you manage to turn it on it turns off the moment it gets rolled over (most other games it stays on several seconds afterwards), or if the ball drains. Hell, by the time it's even useful I've probably lost a ball or two, sometimes by draining down the left outlane lol. Kind of an infinity+1 feature.

Anyway, just trying to explain where my head was at at the time I rated these. ;]

Thanks for shedding more light, I too have been annoyed by the CV center drain on the spinner mini-loop, so I get it. I don't remember that happening before they did the re-tuning at the start of this season, which also improved the table significantly, so I guess I can live with it - once you know when you need to nudge it's okay.

Firepower is just a brutal table, I get where you are coming from too, but the brutally difficult 80s SS tables are my favorites. I'm really looking forward to FS converting this one to emulation (projected date: 2021), it's done wonders for Black Knight, and would take one of the better season 2 tables and make it even better.

I’m going to hold off on rating Ghostbusters until some fixes show up. The current iOS version just makes me sad.

Fathom got a 10 from me. I love the way it turned out. It’s a pin I don’t tire of playing. The look, rules, and play are a hit with me.

I base my TPA ratings on how well the table plays and looks in TPA rather than IRL. Certainly it has a better chance of being more fun in TPA if it's great IRL but not always. A lot of my favorite tables IRL are in Season 1 and they play pretty poorly in TPA by current standards. On the other hand, a lot of tables tha are good IRL feature gameplay that doesn't translate well to digital, no matter how well done the conversion is.

Without further ado:

Scale of 1-5 with 5 being best.

Like I said, these rankings aren't the ranking for the real thing. For examples, Funhouse is one of my favorite pins ever but in TPA it's just too easy and it's boring.

Also, all tables ranked 2-5 I enjoy playing, I just *probably* play them less the lower they are ranked. Tables ranked 1 at the bottom I really do not like and rarely ever play.

Added my ratings. Mine are also based on TPA. Primarily the Vita versions, since I play on Vita the most.

Black Rose
Fish Tales
Gorgar
Theatre of Magic
Twilight Zone

8:

Eight Ball Deluxe
Fireball

Ripley's Believe It or Not!
Victory

3:
Funhouse

2:
High Roller Casino

1:
Al's Garage Band
Goin' Nuts
Phantom of the Opera

Everything else is in the 6-7 average to above average range. I guess I have more of an 8 point scale than a 10, since I couldn't justify giving anything a perfect score, whereas 1 was reserved for broken tables and Goin' Nuts.

Spanish Eyes gets a 7 from me. It’s quirkinss is its most appealing feature. But I don’t get as much of that “just one more game” urge that I get with my favorite EMs.
I like Wild Card a bit more. I’m giving it an 8. The well spaced targets force you to use the entire table and it has one of the best spinner shots in TPA.
A solid, yet unspectacular pack imo.

Well, Ghostbusters on position 21 surprises me. In my opinion this table belongs in the top ten. The best table since eight ball deluxe. But i´m talking about the SPA-Version on GB.

Wow, didn’t realize GB was that low. Pretty surprising.
Maybe all the bugs at release are the cause. As of today the iOS version still doesn’t have working arrow inserts. So you don’t know what to shoot during a mode. The bugs are the only explanation I can come up with. Or maybe some just find it too difficult, which is understandable. The flipper gap and outlanes are nasty.
I haven’t rated it yet. Still waiting for a fixed iOS version. But if it gets fixed it’s a 9 or 10 for me.
When it gets the love it needs, I hope people go back and adjust their ratings, if that is what is causing the low grades.

Dear Kolchak!
You´re right. The bugs on iOS devices may be the only cause for this low Rating of GB.
But on PS4 this table works very well and is such a fun to Play (outlanes and the flipper gab are challenging, but I love such tables. GB is never frustrating). The ony bug I noticed is the " screaming-librarian-lights-out-bug", that appears sometimes.

Wow, didn’t realize GB was that low. Pretty surprising.

For me, GB's rules are too unbalanced and cluttered (this applies to the IRL table too). There is a lot going on with this table, with huge amounts of modes and super jackpots and loud animations with various shots etc. But in the end, a few things (skill shots, PKE frenzy, bonus multipliers) matter far above and beyond everything else. I personally don't consider it a top 10 table for this reason... even though the sound and art are very nice, the rule flow is not what I care for.

Silverballs , totally agree on the PS4 and also on XBOX 1X I`m playing the LE edition table , which is fantastic . GB has joined TAXI as my fave table !!!

Well Done!!!

This is excellent -- I wish every TPA owner would vote.

Your tabulations also reaffirmed my impressions that many of the latest tables suck, for the most part.

Fathom? Yuck... Spanish Eyes... Eww...

I've made an IPDB/Pinside-style 10-point user rating scheme for the tables in The Pinball Arcade:

The Pinball Arcade table ratings survey (http://smbhax.com/tpatr)

^ Visit the survey to register your ratings and see the latest results. You can register one set of ratings per IP address, and you can always go back and edit them.

That being said, depending on how you connect to the internet, your IP address could change at any time, and although the site also backs up your ratings to a browser cookie on your device, cookies can get nixed too. So I encourage you to make a backup of your ratings somewhere, and if you've already entered them they're easy to copy down from the survey site, for instance you can just click the text box at the bottom of the results page to highlight it, ctrl+c or whatever to copy it to your clipboard, and then paste the scores as text data into a text file on your computer for instance, or even onto a post on this thread. Here are mine, automatically neatly formatted from that text box at the bottom of the results page:

Fathom...yuck? We live in entirely different worlds. Every pin won’t please everybody. That’s why we have a hundred. :)
