Hi, i have recently purchased a Star race pinball machine but it needed abit of work such as the playfield surface paint was chipping away in areas like the clear coat is gone . I am now at the point where i have cleaned up the playfield surface and have repainted the chipped areas. Should i now put a couple of coats of varathane on the play field? Any advice? This is my first pinball project. Thanks

After clearcoating, you might want to put a mylar over the playfield as well to prevent the ball from chewing it up. You will need one specific to your table though.

If you have it clear coated correctly you dont need mylar. Take it to an auto shop with the playfield unpopulated they can mask off the bottom and spay multiple thin coats so it doesn't raise the existing paint and decals be blocked and final spray and buff.
