Keyboard Bindings

Hello

As far as I see there is no chance, to change keyboard bindings with the OSX Version?! I'm playing with a swiss german keyboard, which is impossible to use for some of the keys (like z or /).

Switching the keyboard layout with osx also does not help that much.

Thanks for any hints on that topic

Sadly, the Mac version is pretty much a straight port from iOS. I've seen nothing which would indicate that will change. Many are looking forward to running the Steam/PC version. I boot into Windows for Visual Pinball. I'm sure I'd be willing to do it for TPA.

Possible workarounds include purchasing an English keyboard and purchasing a PS3 controller. The latter has been coded for, so no setup is needed. Bluetooth use of the controller may require configuration.

Looking up images of the German keyboard, try the <> key for the left nudge and the -_ key for right nudge. They are in the same positions as the z and / keys in the US. Hope that works. Let us know.

I'm using Finnish/Swedish keyboard layout which is mostly identical to German. What you suggested doesn't work, and it's probably because the keys are assigned by the character they produce, not based on their location on the keyboard.

For OP I warmly recommend the PS3 controller. After I started using that it feels painfully clumsy to play on keyboard.

Hello

After finding out that the software does not allow configuring own shortcuts I've created myself an own keyboard layout using UKELELE http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=ukelele for the country called Pinball ;)

Though one has to say that the game is great for playing but the user interface is just a joke :/

(btw, clicking the tournament button on my MAC freezes the game).

So, trying the PS3 controller next ;)

Greetings from Switzerland and thanks for your help and answers!

There is some info here: http://www.dannyadam.com/blog/2012/02/changing-mac-key-bindings/
it's specific to key bindings

also, you can use "any" controller and customize it, using USB overdrive: http://www.usboverdrive.com/USBOverdrive/Information.html

3rd solution, which the best, is to build your own controller powered with an iPac, you can configure as you wish: https://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html
which is what I did. My controller shown in this thread: http://digitalpinballfans.com/showthread.php/5830-My-Pinball-Controller

So you have at least 3 solutions.. depending on your time, money, etc

Okay, this may seem like a strange request, but on the non-Mac versions of TPA, what are the key bindings (as in, what controls are available to be configured)?
