After the latest update I can no longer abuse the bug.
Cat's officially out of the bag then I guess, and we're free to discuss how the bug actually worked. All it took was the press of a single button (1!) while the game was loading to totally mess up the leader board of every table in the...
I wouldn't hold my breath. Bug's been around for who knows how long (six months? longer?) and I got in touch with FS two patches ago. Bug's still there.
I'm curious to know how "Have fun cleaning up your leaderboard" managed to get identical scores on Central Park and Firepower. Also there are a couple of bogus scores on CP not ending with a zero. With my knowledge of the bug, I wouldn't be able to pull that off. Looking forward to having an...
Nejsem Okurkaa is an obvious glitch abuser. He's (?) got top position on several tables now.
There is no way to tell which scores are legit and which ones are not. A smart cheater will make a fake score look legit. The leaderboard has lost its legitimacy and therefore its purpose. Fix the bug...
I think the fact that more and more people are coming forward who have discovered the bug makes my point stronger - knowledge of this bug is widespread and you can't trust ANY score.
I don't think it's necessary for me to abuse the bug any further, since it might be detrimental to the Pinball Arcade community and I've already proven my point...
...but "Yit" has posted a ridiculous score of 48+ million on Genie, knocking back my bogus-but-not-so-ridiculous score of 4+...
Nope, still broken. I don't think there were enough time to look into it before the release of the new patch.
Not that I mind though, I figured out a way to play WW and SS (and all other tables I don't own) for free.
I didn't intentionally use the bug until the day before I started this thread, so I'm not sure if it would work in a tournament, but my guess is that it would.
Makes sense. However, while the existence of a single digit in the score shows it comes from CP, a zero at the end of the score does not in itself prove that the score is fake.
At the other end of the spectrum, there is no table where you can easily get the hundreds of billions necessary to get...
Why? How many hours - or even minutes - would it take before the whole leaderboard became FUBAR if I revealed on a public forum how you can basically pick which table you want a certain score to register on? Yes, I'm not talking about some Mickey-Mouse-ball-getting-stuck-in-the-jet-bumpers...
There are a couple of things that make me a bit cross though.
1. Obvious bogus scores are often referred to as "hacks" here on the forum. That annoys me. I'm not a hacker, I'm a victim (of a major software bug), at least the first time it happened to me. Sure, I got a high position on the...
