I tried to PM you to get in touch before the show, but your box was full. I could have used my pass to get all your stuff in through the back door/hand carry entrance, would have saved some time.
Too bad you missed it, I was one of the guys running the Steel Bat room. We had over 1,500 player...
Not very long... otherwise the other balls will be bouncing around and hitting things. You don't have to hit a shot to to disqualify the 100MM Jackpot, you just have to hit ANYTHING. My current method is: press and hold the right flipper while catching, controlling, shooting with the left. This...
I'm playing the Steam version, and it's awarded it to me every time I've made the shot in time. Before I learned the bounce-catch combo, I scored it a few times with a lucky shot off the right flipper.
I've pulled this shot off four times now, including twice in one game! Very good advice.
Only issue is, what to do with the other balls? It takes me a sec to trap and control the ball with the left flipper, before I can take the shot. I usually lose the second ball down the drain while making...
I forgot to mention this in my original reply, but this was the case with me... I've always hated Pinball Video Games. When I first saw one of my Steam buddies playing PA, I thought to myself, YUCK! But once he told me what it was, I went and bought the first season right away.
I would LOVE to build a cabinet, but the lack of legit IP is one of the things that has held me back. Cabinet mode PA, please! I'll even buy a separate copy, since I understand that additional development work would be pretty high for something that they aren't going to sell a lot of.
That...
Theatre of Magic, when I'm trying to start an illusion with the ball locks lit... Suddenly I can't hit the trunk hole to save my life, and I miss by just enough to hit that inner loop and lock the ball. Then, once you've locked two, the trunk spins to start multiball, and you LOSE ALL OF YOUR...
Really though, Pinball has spanned three generations: the Boomers, Gen X, and The Millennials. People seem to have different tastes that don't always line up to their age, either. I like the categories that Pinside uses:
Modern pinball 1991-now
Late solid state 1985-1991
Early solid state...
Hmmmm... I volunteer with PAX, so I just got an early copy of the Expo floor plan... don't see FarSight. I wonder where they are going to stick them?
EDIT:Found them, they are listed under "Pinball Arcade". Duh, should have seen that sooner.
BTW Nightwing, good luck on your with your press...
Is this undocumented in TPA's instructions? It's definitely not on list of "how to get extra balls" near the end. That only lists: extra ball lights when clock advanced to/past 6 o'clock, extra ball lights as basement reward, and the Specials.
I just scored it today in a game where I got my...
Oh yeah, you are right, they did have two pinball machines last year.
But, they were machines that I don't recall from my youth, so the nostalgia of the video games that do bring me back is a much more vivid memory. And yes, of course, the Classic Freeplay will be back again this year. I guess...
I do PAX East every year, will totally stop by the FarSight booth and say hi.
Not much pinball at PAX, but last year I did attend a demo by a pro pinball player. Would be even better if they had a pinball freeplay room!
