Glad to hear it's moving along!
Someone upthread asked about my handle. I've used it since Liam Neeson played a role as a Jedi mentor. I had the hair and the beard long before he did. :)
I am with the Time Meddlers of Los Angeles, and we have a table at Gallifrey One, the convention mentioned above. I called Farsight this morning to get flyers for the con, which will be the last weekend of the Kickstarter. With any luck, we can convince Lee and Sue Cummings from Tiny Rebel Games...
High Speed II, Xenon, Jack*Bot to complete that set, Safe Cracker,
and especially Banzai Run! I so miss the UCLA arcade from the 80s, which had all the good pinball machines.
Well, the Elvis machine uses an EPROM 1427.. though how to connect Elvis and Sausalito... hmmm.... anyone know of a table with 1427 units produced? Like pm1109 said, it's been a great year so far, so if we get one clinker like LCA, we'll get by somehow.
Overall, I'm loving the new look. It's more photorealistic, and cool. Only ?? moment for me is in CFTBL, the new ramps look a bit shiny at the top, in a way that looks kinda weird.
I figured out why the mode was crashing. Turns out if "There is an improved version of this table available" and you try to select it in Challenge Mode, it breaks the program. Once I went to MM and got the new version, the Williams challenge mode worked fine. And just as a suggestion, I made it...
Tried the new challenge mode on the LoD beta, and I like the standardization of "Continue" vs. "Load" and the "Next Up" instead of zeroes on the table we haven't played.
Unfortunately, at least on my Galaxy Tab 7 2.0 running Android 4.2.2, the Williams challenge now crashes instead of moving...
I've been playing it, and I think it's fun, but it's not without problems. A number of times, I have hit start from to try again, and the pinball doesn't start. It just sits there and you cannot shoot the ball. You can reset, but it loses a chance of the three. This has been on Arabian Knights...
I'm as fanatical as it gets, since I edit a Who newsletter monthly for the Time Meddlers of Los Angeles, and have a complete archive of the DVDs sitting five feet from me.
I talked to them at the Comikaze Expo last year, and Norman said they would have get a British lawyer to approach all seven...
I can never remember my stupid password, so it's not a big deal to me. Sides, I know full well I will never reach the top levels of the leaderboards, but that doesn't matter to me. I just like playing pinball.
I asked about it last week because it's my number one licensed table to want in TPA, but it does sound like Farsight isn't really interested in negotiating UK licenses for the actors and the Terry Nation estate is notoriously hard to talk to.
