So the Midwest Gaming Classic happened this weekend in Brookfield Wisconsin. This is an expo that focuses on old arcade games, pinball, and video games/computers. But there's plenty of additional stuff to do there. You can read my previous year recaps below...
I headed over to the Chicago Pinball Expo for 2016 with a bit of trepidation given how bad I felt it was last year. But this year was pretty rock'n. Lots of new games on display.
So without dragging anything out I'll post the big stuff first.
Jesery Jack was out in force at the Expo. 2...
Level 257 is a large Pac Man themed restaurant that popped up last year. I hadn't gotten around to checking it out till recently.
It's located at the Woodfield Mall in Schamburg, IL. It's near Sears but can hardly miss if it you see it from the road or 53.
It's got a bit of everything...
Just a friendly reminder the Vintage Flipper World show in Ann Arbor MI is coming up mid May. This is the probably the best show to attend to play fantastically maintained pinball machines with little to no waiting. Plus quite a few rare machines you likely won't find elsewhere.
I did a write...
Just a friendly reminder the Midwest Gaming Classic 2016 is coming up next year: April 8th-10th. I'm reading that the hotel that hosts the show is about 50% booked.
For those unfamiliar this expo its main focus is filling a hotel with as many video games, pinball machines, and related...
I popped over to the Chicago Pinball Expo for a bit. Last year was pretty fantastic. The Game Hall had a ton of games to the point where they had an overflow room and the Vendor Hall had a lot of neat stuff there too. But looks like this year is not going to be too good.
I should preface by...
Over the weekend I attended the Midwest Gaming Classic in Brookfield Wisconsin. It's an odd event as it mashes up pinball and video games. I started going there a few years ago and have been hooked. The event starts Friday night with a lot of tournaments and other games. But typically I'll go on...
Just so no one misses this tickets for Vintage Flipper World, in Ann Arbor Michigan, are now on sale for the 2015 event. I cannot stress how fantastic this pinball event was when they launched it last year. But here are some reason why its so fantastic:
- Limited tickets sales = no/very little...
After work I headed over to the Chicago Pinball Expo for a few hours. By the time the vendor hall opened I unfortunately was running out of steam (draining last two days of work) so didn't play anything there even though I really wanted to since there were quite a few exclusives there. But in...
So I popped over to the Underground Retrocade in West Dundee IL. This has been around for a few years and I had been meaning to go over to there to check it out at some point. So finally got around to it and very glad I did.
It's mainly a video game arcade but they have five pinball tables...
So this weekend I attended the first ever Vintage Flipper World (VFW) event in Ann Arbor Michigan and figured I would post some pictures from the event. This was an absolutely fantastic event for any pinball fan to attend. Initially I heard about VFW on Kickstarter where they were looking to...
It looks like the first time I trigger the Fish Finder in a game it will always go to "lite extra ball". Is this the case on the actual machine or a bug? Seems pretty generous if so.
Here's a fun website that show a bunch of the hidden modes and little in-gags for various pinball tables: http://hem.bredband.net/b257182/Cows&Easter.htm
I tried a few of these in Pinball Arcade and the ones I tried worked:
- The hidden poker video mode in ST:NG where you get to play a hand...
Inspired by Lostboys thread where he's looking for a particular table he played as a kid. I had a memory of a pinball table I played that stuck with me but I can't find the table I remember on the Internet Pinball Database.
This was about 25-30 years ago we were on a family trip somewhere and...
