This one? Can't seem to post there neither reply to existing threads...
EDIT: Nevermind, found the sub forum where the public can post.
EDIT2: Feel free to chime in here. ;)
Hi!
I've written a DLL that allows making use of pretty much all real DMD displays users put in their virtual pinball cabs nowadays.
If any developer reads this and you're interested to add support for real DMDs, let me know. It also has a virtual DMD mode where you can test. The API is quite...
Cheers, thanks for the screenshot :)
So your virtual cab's DMD cutout comes with a different aspect ratio than 1:4? Why would they do that? Are the DMDs in your other games stretched as well?
If anyone's interested, real DMD support is working again thanks to NoEx. So if you're a PinDMD1,2,3,PIN2DMD owner, give it a spin and let me know how it goes.
Yeah, we currently need to adapt the memory address for each version of the TPA executable. I think NoEx is looking into this.
You can change the smoothness by changing the frame rate. Although I don't think more than 25 will have much impact besides hogging the CPU, as far as I know PinMAME...
It comes also with a virtual DMD that renders like this:
So even if you have a monitor for your DMD, this probably looks nicer than the upscaled DMDs of TPA and Pinball FX2.
Hello,
The last few weeks I've written a nice abstraction layer for real DMDs, meaning we can do all kind of neat stuff while supporting pretty much every DMD used for virtual pinball out there (that is, PinDMDv1-v3 and PIN2DMD). Two weeks ago I was playing around with Pinball FX2, and now...
I'll soon be having PinDMDv1, PinDMDv2, PinDMDv3 and PIN2DMD working, which should cover pretty much any DMD used for virtual pinball out there.
The program I wrote is very modular, so you can have any combination of input/output nodes with a processing stack in-between, like a primitive render...
Hi,
for those running Pinball FX2 on a cabinet with a real DMD, I've been working on a project that adds support to Pinball FX2. There's a thread about it over at VPF.
DMD in action:
shaderbytes: Yes I do. It's funny because just recently I came across a pinball showcase by some devs from Epic Games Japan, written for UE4. They added some nice features to the editor as well so it's easier to create flippers, ramps, bumpers etc. I've created a GitHub repo here hoping some UE4...
Fantastic work! It's even playable on my old laptop here. The "other" Unity Pinball lags even with my GTX970.
I have a question about your workflow. So basically you model the whole thing in Blender and import it as-is into Unity? Then attach the lights and triggers and code the animations in...
Also 3D rendering is affected, see (again) my comparison screenshot (left: PP off, right: PP on):
It would be very nice indeed if that was fixed at some point.
