Pinball FX to offer a subscription model and micro transactions.

Pinball FX to offer a subscription model and micro transactions.

I have to agree. Those are very good observations. I did not see that slant when I read it. You are %100 correct that no one HAS to repurchase the tables. I’m guessing it will be optional with improved graphics or something. It sounds like they’re using the mobile model for table purchase. Is...

Pinball FX to offer a subscription model and micro transactions.

Considering what they did to get the license in the first place, this doesn’t surprise me a bit. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/pinball-fx-fans-criticise-plans-for-150-of-microtransactions-and-15-monthly-sub/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is the Williams license in better hands now? Would a wide variety of tables by TPA be

Maybe it’s my age, but I am perfectly happy with the FX3 engine. I feel that apps hit that point a long time ago where they were meant to be obsolete after a few years. I’m sure the new software will be noticeably better to some people, but I’m just happy to be able to play these tables decades...

And as I understand it, there are two different tables, aren’t there? Is one much more popular than the other? I played one about 20 years ago that was pretty great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is there an easy to use VFX setup? I’ve used it in the past with mixed results. I found some great and unique tables, but it seemed like some worked and some didn’t. Maybe I had to find a specific format. It seemed very involved. I’m not used to that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is the Williams license in better hands now? Would a wide variety of tables by TPA be

Those are some good points, with the pandemic putting things into a tailspin. I do think Zen really dropped the ball. Farsight did fan polls and worked to put out tables that were high in demand. Bride of PinBot is still a favorite and one of the tables that has me visit the mobile app from time...

Is the Williams license in better hands now? Would a wide variety of tables by TPA be

I’m both happy and surprised at those responses. It seemed like the license had real value to Farsight, whereas it’s just another property for Zen. I can’t believe they’re getting their moneys worth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is the Williams license in better hands now? Would a wide variety of tables by TPA be

I’m not sure how long it’s been now since Zen took over the Williams pinball license. As I understand it, Pinball FX3 is done, and they’re moving on to 4. There has been no new table for quite a while. Would it have been better for Farsight to keep the title running, despite the lower quality...

Initial Thoughts on PBA for Switch

I’ve only bought one table pack. The graphics are definitely superior to mobile, and while it’s obvious no work is done, the tables seem to play fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Williams' Collection Volume 7 guesses

If the next gen of Pinball FX sees a focus on tables not already done by Zen, that’s a big plus. Good choice here. I only saw this table a few times IRL and loved it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Zen Studios acquired by Embracer Group

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't really familiar with the Zen history. I just saw that FX2 lasted 7 years and FX3 has been around for over 3. Having seen shifts with music and streaming as well as apps I have purchased that later switch to a subscription model, I get a bit nervous when I...

Thanks for all of that insight. This really sours me on them as a business. I held a grudge for quite a while when they got the Bally license and waited a long time to buy tables. I like the tournaments and the UI. The tables are beautiful and play pretty well. That being said, I appreciate...

In another thread it's being talked about that Pinball FX4 could have a different business model, including subscription. Is it possible some of that is because of how the merged business wants to generate revenue? Side note: does this mean no more tables for FX3? They didn't exactly do a ton...

Your reaction if the new Pinball FX reboot requires a subscription on PC / console

Thanks to so many people buying in to that business model EVERYWHERE, it's becoming increasingly pervasive. The number of apps I've deleted because they want a monthly subscription instead of an outright purchase is always climbing. I don't see how that model is viable for Pinball FX, but some...

Is that the new ios? I have an older ipad pro I haven't updated. It sounds like I shouldn't, and it also serves to remind me why I left the apple ecosystem. Every OS has some compatibility issues, but I've had a LOT of apps suddenly become unusable when apple updates their OS. Sent from my...

I feel like there was almost some sort of attitude that they felt whatever they were doing was right because it was them doing it. The horrible UI change and so on. It seems like they didn't want to admit their shortcomings. As I mentioned in a previous post, one of the most striking differences...
