Will Farsight come back from the dead? Or is the...
That's what I seem to recall reading at one point, too, but the cost of electricity is the reason the Weeks keep giving in interviews. I can't seen to find anything online about zoning issues. Here's another article that says the same thing about their electric bill:
It does make sense when...
This is a primary reason why the Museum of Pinball in Banning is only open a few times a year. From this LA Times article: “It’s 45,000 square feet of pinball. Just to flip the electrical breakers, it costs a few thousand dollars.”
Nope - Hearst is an independent company. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hearst_Communications
I was thinking more along the lines of PSTE's lack of popularity rather than the licensing issue -- it's #212 on IPDB's rankings as I type this. I can imagine the wailing here if Zen released it...
King Features Syndicate still holds the rights to Popeye (they're owned by Hearst Communications).
I'm probably one of the few people here who likes Popeye Saves the Earth and wishes Zen would release it, but I realize it probably won't happen. But I can dream.
I have no problem with people running up the score on Single Player with Zen's traditional physics. If that were a Classic Single Player high score, then that's time to worry.
I truly hope you're right. I'll be thrilled if they can keep up the progress they've made so far.
My personal concern is the license issue. Maybe shutyertrap can ask Zen if they will give us some warning if they lose a license. If they confirm they'll give us a heads-up before delisting a...
I agree. I'm genuinely hopeful about what Zen will do.
I've paid a lot of attention to them and bought a lot of tables from them. I made that list so that people who are not aware of Zen's history (like yourself) will realize that they're not always going to act in your best interest, and...
No need for personal attacks. You missed the point about having an agreement forced upon you, regardless of the contents of the EULA. The point was that if you failed to agree, regardless of how harmless it was, you lose access to something you paid for. Again, just in case this wasn't clear...
On the other hand, can you imagine the backlash Zen would have faced if they did make you rebuy all the tables after delisting FX2? I suspect this was done out of necessity, not out of generosity.
That's all well and good, but it means nothing to PC users like me. I believe console players...
Zen has a history of making decisions that screw people over, so forgive me if I'm not as willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
1) The Pinball FX2 EULA fiasco. FX2 was released on Steam without a EULA, but it was added later and everyone was forced to accept it to continue playing the...
This point needs to be repeated for those of you who think the cigar issue is pointless criticism. I don't care about the cigar -- I care about Zen preserving the original experience as much as possible. If Zen is going to use the #PreservePinball hashtag all over the place for the real...
It was pointed out on the Dead_Flip stream today that the fisherman image on the Fish Tales playfield has a cigar in the real table, but is missing from the Zen version. Here's the real table:
And Zen's version:
Looks like more censorship?
They're interested in trying for those licenses:

PiN WiZ, it looks like you'll have to update this paragraph in the first post -- the PS3 versions of DLC Packs #3 and #4 do not have demos. I just confirmed this by redownloading the demo from PSN, and demos are available only for the core tables and DLC Packs #1 and #2. (I haven't purchased...
Actually, there are. I've only played the demo versions on PS3, as I'm waiting for the PC release to actually purchase TPA, but they're all there except for Pack #3.
Any word from Farsight about this?
I just tried to play the demos of Gorgar and Monster Bash on my PS3, but there is no option to demo the tables before purchase.
If you select either table, the window that pops up reads:
"This table is a downloadable add-on and is not available as a trial version."
Will this be corrected in...
