Poor Performance on Steam/PC

I have a fairly mid-high end rig and I'm having major performance issues on this table. Basically the game stutters and freezes for just a moment about every 2-3 seconds.

I've read other threads that point to a potential CPU bottleneck, but that is not the case with me. I have a Core i5-6600k and GeForce 1070 video card. Normally tables run at about 15-20% CPU usage but this table runs at 60%. So there is definitely a difference but I'm not sure why I'm having issues since I'm not at 100% usage yet. Turning down the video settings does not help either. I've updated my video card drivers to the latest version. I'm at a loss. I really want to play this table. I don't have a single issue on any other table (I own all 7 seasons). Has anyone had any luck fixing problems on this table?

It's getting worse lately. At launch it worked mostly well. Then a few months later, GB started becoming choppy and slower.

I tried launching it this evening and got a white screen saying something along the lines of not enough resources available. I had the option to still launch, which I chose. The table came up and then crashed TPA in two seconds. The last couple of system updates by FS have really messed this one up.

Checked Ghostbusters in both TPA (1.70.21) and SPA, both worked fine for me.

Checked Ghostbusters in both TPA and SPA, apart from some physics differences there were no issues. I had to add SPA and TPA .exe's to my AV exclusions as they are still being detected as false positives though.

Ghostbusters SPA works fine, TPA is heavily choppy until I remove one of the CPU cores, then it's fine. Everything worked great before the Pistol Poker update.

How do you remove one of the CPU cores?

Haha, it works! Thanks a lot. The only problem is that the setting resets whenever you close TPA so you have to redo this every time you want to play the table. Anyway to make the setting permanent that you are aware of?

edit: longer-term testing shows that this works most of the time but I still have slow downs from time to time that can ruin a game.
