Honestly I wouldn't mind given that physics also changed. So did nudging a while back.
I totally agree on eliminating obviously fake scores, but I guess that'll consume too much manpower...
Each time this, or similar, topic(s) come up I continue to offer the suggestion of " FarSight should simply wipe the leaderboards every X amount of time. They could save the top 100, or so, scores per term on their website; be it monthly/quarterly/yearly/whatever. This could be another way to emulate the method that 'real' pinball machines do wrt their wiping the hstd data every 3000 (by default) plays."
