Sometimes it seems like it was only a few days ago. Other times it seems like it was bloody ages ago. But on February 9, 2012, one year ago today, The Pinball Arcade went live on iOS devices with just four tables. Today we have 22 tables on iOS, with #23 and #24 on the way soon. Unfortunately not all platforms have been able to get in on the fun, with the 360 publisher going bankrupt and the PC version in distribution limbo. Hopefully these complex issues will be resolved soon and we can welcome more players to "this thing of ours". During that year, I've gone from playing practically zero pinball to probably playing more pinball than is good for me. I've discovered that I have access to a rotating collection of nearly 80 tables and have grabbed that opportunity with both hands, as it were. I see many of my fellow players here discovering their own local tables or in some cases getting ultra-local by taking the plunge and buying their own table(s). And of course, I'm now trying to bring my own table creation, Sin, to life in Visual Pinball...which I'm finding out is much, much harder than I thought it would be, although it still looks doable, hopefully with the help of some of our talented forum membership. (Those who have offered assistance: I am not ignoring you. I'm just trying to make sure that I will be able to follow through with this project until the end, as it would be a pity to drag others into something that could not be completed.) I doubt I would be doing anything of these things had I not stumbled across the Williams Collection a year ago and from there TPA. So, happy first birthday, TPA! Here's to many more. Cheers! :D
