[QUOTE="starck, post: 10171, member: 601"] 3D would be extremely cool. It would really be icing on the cake. Hell, I don't even have a 3D tv and think it would be sick. There are several issues with that idea though. The 3D tv market is pretty small, and hasn't really caught on like the industry thought it would. There's little incentive to put that much time into developing for 3D tv's...look at how many console games are released in 3D....(no offense- just trying to be logical). Furthermore, let's look at the 3D games that ARE available right now...you mentioned a few games in another post- I was going to post in that thread, but this thread seems like a better place. 1st thing's first- I agree! It would be awesome! Second, to be honest I'm pretty jealous you got to play Killzone 3 in 3D. I bet that was really cool. But, there's a decent amount of extra cost that goes into engineering the game for that option. So...let's look closely at those games...notice anything similar about all of those games? -Resistance 3: developed by Insomniac Games, published by Sony. -Crysis 2: developed by Crytek, published by Electronic Arts. -Killzone 3: developed by Guerrilla Games, published by Sony -Hustle Kings: developed by VooFoo studios, published by Sony 4/5 of the above mentioned games were backed by Sony, who was able to probably pour in quite a large sum of money in order to get the game ready for the newest 3D tv's. Sony has several motives for promoting 3D games, but I won't go into that here. The only other publisher up there that isn't Sony is Electronic Arts. Electronic Arts reported a revenue in 2011 of ~$3.8 billion. I've no doubt that they are able to pour extra money into a 3D project or 5. Let's add another game: -Zen Pinball 2...will have 3D....notice, however, that for the PS3 release, it is published by Sony....hm..... Tables with an option for anaglyph stereoscopic 3D on a regular tv might be interesting...no idea how feasible that is, or how well it would work....this is getting beyond the realm of my current knowledge.
