So it was the weekend, so this gave me chance to go out with my other half. I know my hobby is acceptable when she suggests that 'we' go to play Pinball, I think she's a good catch. So all week I've been preparing to play Stern's Avatar at a pub in Lancaster, we get there and I put my money in only for it to spit it back out on to the floor, was my money not good enough for it? There it was taunting me with it's flashing lights but it wouldn't take a credit! How infuriating, the bar staff were clueless and I never got to play on it. So around the corner I know of a sports bar which has two tables, a Twilight Zone (my personal favourite) and a T2 (an absolute drain monster). So I pop my pound coin in TZ, plunge, flip the flippers and... what's this? It's reset? Are you actually kidding me?! I wander over to the bar, almost feels like the walk of shame, to tell the barmaid, Twilight Zone is broken, again. I get my pound coin back and turn my attention to T2, third time's a charm right? I put my money in and... success! Off we go! This table is very fast and the out-lanes are just nasty. Usually I don't do so great but I've actually been stood here for about 15 minutes, on a single ball, collected 2 extra balls, got a replay and it's going swimmingly. Nothing gives me as much satisfaction as hitting those targets for multi-ball (even more so as two of them are blown!). The game finishes at a smidgen over 300 million, but no high-score entry! ASH whoever you are, this is war. I let my other half play out the credits I won and I pop another coin in. Determined to get on the high-score, my first two balls are just trash, but my third ball, it comes alive, I make multi-ball, relock a ball for the chance to make a super, the canon swings around and I choke, missing it, re-lock another ball, this time, DIRECT HIT, 50 million points! Amazing feeling, made even more amazing by me going on to hit 2 more super's, extra balls and another 2 replays and to make it on to the high-score #4 slot with 365,254,260 points, fantastic weekend!
