Joining my first pinball tourney this month

So after learning about the tournaments that Lanes and Games holds monthly and meeting the person who runs them, I told my parents that I was interested in joining the tournaments. They said yes.

So I'm going to test out the tournaments this month, and if it goes well, I'm going to be attending the tournaments monthly. The tournaments are in the PinGolf format, where you have to reach a certain score within as little balls as possible. The machines being used in the tourney are:
- Spider-Man
- Indiana Jones (Stern)
- Iron Man VE
- TRON (Pro)
- AC/DC (Premium / LE)
- Star Trek (Pro)
- Walking Dead (Pro)
- Whoa Nellie!
- KISS (Pro)

Nice line up of games - with the exception of IJ - all super modern.

Going to the Colorado Dory hill pinball camp out next weekend for the first time. They may run a pingolf tourney - but I have never played that format before. Does the op turn on a certain number of balls - like five- so you can have holle-in-one, eagle, birdie, par, bogey, double bogey?
