Greetings everyone, this is my first post, though I have been reading these forums for a while. I should preface this post by saying that I am not a pinball expert (not even close to one), nor do I own any real tables. However I do enjoy pinball, and when I find a real table I always play it. Anyway I figured I would register to add my two-cents on specifically the PS3 version, because this is the version that I play most often; nothing beats Pinball Arcade in a dark room with a large HDTV. Having said that though, there are also a few "little things" that could be improved which would enhance the experience greatly. And so I would like to list my opinions below. Note that for future reference, these comments are for the latest version at the time of writing this: 2.09 - The New UI I like it. I know that it's a copy of the Android interface, but I do feel that it is more functional than the previous one. The low-res images and music do not bother me because I don't spend more than a minute in the menu anyway - The ball shadow/reflection This is difficult to explain. I am not referring to the shiny ball reflecting the atmosphere around it. I like that. Instead I am talking about the new ball "shadow" of the reflection underneath the ball on the table. To me it is very distracting and doesn't look quite right. Because of the odd way that it looks, I find that my eyes want to focus on it, and it detracts from the game. - Camera not staying locked I like to play with a fixed view that makes it look as if I'm standing in front of a real machine. So I use the option to lock the camera. However I notice that for two specific tables (maybe more?) the camera refuses to stay locked. On Cirqus Voltaire, the camera will always zoom in on the Ringmaster, even when it is "locked". And also on Bride of Pinbot, the camera will always zoom in on th Bride's face, again even when locked. This greatly detracts from the realism I am trying to create, as it is unnatural. - Inability to set controls I have an X-Arcade Dualstick that I want to use the side-buttons as they were intended, as pinball flippers. However I cannot currently set Pinball Arcade to anything other than the L/R buttons, and so I cannot use my X-Arcade with TPA. The option to map any button however I want would be nice. - Camera views/angles not saving If I play Theatre of Magic or Tales of the Arabian Nights in view #2 and then play any other table and then go back, the views need to be reset to what I had them at before. This is especially annoying because I can only change the view angle while the ball is in play. This usually causes the first ball to drain while I am changing the camera angle. I would like the camera views to save for each table. So in closing I think these things listed would greatly improve the experience, and I do not believe they would be hard to fix, but they would have a big impact on the enjoyment of the game (at least for me). I hope this is not sounding like a complaint post, because I do like TPA, and I want to see it improve. I'll put on my anti-flame suit now just in case. --Jim
