If you complete the catapult three times, and launch the cow all three times, the video mode is much easier, as the crows are picking up cows instead of kids. Complete peasant, joust, damsel, and catapult WITHOUT starting multiball madness. Then make sure trolls are activated and hit the saucer. This will activate multiball with the trolls active. Defeat the trolls, this will automatically activate the 4 ball multiball. The troll bomb bug is killer here. What I did is make sure to light trolls and rack up two troll bombs WITHOUT activating trolls just prior to Battle for the Kingdom. This allowed the bombs to be automatically used vanquishing those trolls in the end. Also, if you finish all the castles, but DON'T have everything else finished for the battle, you can hit the drawbridge repeatedly, allowing the shots to glance off the troll targets on the way up or down. This helps you collect the bombs, but you will also need to get good at nudging and anticipation to avoid SDTM drains. Stay alive, play a lot of multiballs. Get a lot of extra balls. The video mode is an easy extra ball after you've memorized how to get through it. The farther you get, the more valuable it is to get to the next city by lighting RIDE and LIVE. Especially toward the end, I found that I was more likely to be successful going for these instead of trying to travel over 300 miles. This sometimes happens accidentally, but is a doozy to try to get when you're trying. I found that allowing the ball to bounce on the slingshots sometimes would send the ball off the right slingshot and up to the passage at just the right strength. You need to make sure the lock is not lit, though.
