I'm Ok with the announcements (especially new interface and online multiplayer).

Now, FS, announce a separate Hardcore Leaderboard (no extra ball at all, only three balls... and the player's ones!), and you will make my day.

You really just love everything they do, don't you?

Don't do it if you don't have anything to tell people. It's a fair criticism.
It's also fair for me to point out that publicly attacking a moderator in his own forum is manifestly stupid. Take your own advice and if you have nothing substantive to contribute to the conversation, remain silent.

For your information, all four of the moderators have at various points criticized FarSight, sometimes sharply, for issues with TPA and/or their communications regarding said issues. We even maintain the master issues lists, a veritable litany of TPA sins, which right now shows numerous unresolved issues from months ago. This is not generally the work of people who are concerned about putting FarSight in an always-positive light.

Looks like the Playstation store has updated, I thought it stopped updating last Tuesday/Wednesday?

Pinball Arcade Season Pack 1 looks like it's been discounted for PS4.

That might be the thing for today's day of christmas.

Today is day ten and the latest offering is a Linux version coming soon via steam. No word on cross by entitlement.

SteamPlay: Buy it once. Get it on PC, Mac, and Linux.

Unless you're talking about the PS4. Not sure about that.

YES! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR AGES!

This means that it'll be compatible out of the box with the new Steam OS without having to stream it from a windows pc :D

The developers were working at unsustainable speeds before. The engineering triangle rears its ugly head: fast, good, cheap, pick any 2. Previously FarSight picked fast and cheap, and while I'm not going to say TPA turned out bad, I think we all can agree it could be much better than it is. By releasing only one table a month now, thereby increasing the average time devoted to one table from 15 days to 30 days, FarSight is now trying for good and cheap. While it's only a sample size of one, if all Season Pack 3 tables have the quality of Fish Tales, I for one would be quite pleased.

That's fair enough, but I'm fairly confident that fast & good would win a straw poll over good & cheap, at least on these forums. Going to 1 table per month was, in my considered opinion, a mistake–it can logically only lead to a much narrower band of tables that FS can reasonably use and gives them no insurance policy if, Harry Williams forbid, something should go wrong with any given table. Also, depending on how much of FarSight's manpower is dedicated to Orbals, table quality could end up taking a hit. I still think that TPA's best days aren't yet behind it, but there is some uncertainty in my mind.

I won the contest from yesterday! It's fitting because I'm a heavy linux supporter and many of my past jobs have revolved around it. The only part that's a bummer is I was planning on buying all of season 1 anyway, and the tables (Scared Stiff/Big Shot) are included anyway. I may pass on the christmas joy to a buddy. Thank you again, Farsight!

Day 11 was just posted on Facebook:

“Time to get excited pinball fans! There are a number of tables we haven't been able to bring to Pinball Arcade because of some explicit themes. We are working on a 'Pinball After Dark' app with more mature themed tables. The new app will also include the online head to head feature to keep things exciting in 2014!”

The re-emergence of that pinball after dark idea may give some hope for a round of EM tables and Early era SS as special grouped seasons/packs if TPA is to fixate on the 90s DMDs more.
