And I'm sure I'm not the only Wii-U owner waiting to buy this. What's really ironic, Farsight released this game on the Ouya store, and to the best of my knowledge, Wii-U has a larger userbase. Also I believe Wii-U owners are far more likely to actually purchase stuff considering 70% of the Ouya userbase who just bought it for the emulators and free games haven't made a single purchase.

Like Bonzo said, the Ouya platform is just the Android version. All Farsight did was put the Andriod version on the Ouya storefront. They did the samething for the Kindle Fire. They put the Andriod version on Amazon's storefront. Super easy and very cheap to do.

It's not like the Wii-U, where they have to create an all new version of the platform and have to deal with Nintendo's certification process on the top of it. It also appears, that Nintendo's ceritication process is even worse than Microsoft's and Sony's.

I don't think the Ouya version is identical to the Android. After all, they had to adapt the game to joypad controls and that takes a certain amount of effort. True, it's not porting to a completely new platform, but it works.

There are a few buttons and modes that cannot be properly accessed without the Ouya touchpad (namely Pro menus and the balls selection on the EM tables and Genie), which is a pain when using the low-latency PS3 controllers. I have a Kickstarter Ouya with a launch controller and a prelaunch controller. The Pre-launch controller has a couple of physical bugs with sticking buttons and analog triggers (which I fixed by hacking it) and a logic bug (that resets the analog triggers when a face button is pressed). Both issues were fixed by the spare day-1 launch controller I bought, however both Ouya controllers lag badly making them unsuitable for playing the faster pinball tables. I get more acceptable performance out of the Ps3 but cannot access the afformentioned menus.

There are quite a few third party programs that offer controller support on Android games. If Farsight incorperated one of those into the Ouya version of TPA, then it wouldn't take that much effor at all.

When I asked about Tales from the Crypt on an earlier livestream they were ecstatic when it was mentioned and said it was an "interesting choice". Maybe Guns 'n Roses and Playboy are in there too

I'd rather see FS test their emulation issues with DE out with some of their unlicensed games before investing into the licensed ones and seeing what happens.

As we know there are still unfinished emulation issues with Gottlieb tables that have been released many months ago and there has been no sign that these issues will ever be fixed, even though the problems lie in the much more expensive Pro Modes. It would not do any benefits to the reputation of TPA if they pushed out a popular licensed game with an unfinished emulation and charged for the Pro mode only to have it completely inaccessible or some other issues. It seems that players will cut FS/TPA a hell of a lot more slack when the game/table is some off brand no-license one. Apparently all the blame then goes to the original manufacturer.

Honestly I was surprised to see High Roller Casino in the regular game. Simply because gambling theme seemed to equal adult to me, I guess...it seemed like something they'd put into Pinball After Dark.

Presumably it will really only be for the machines that won't reach an E10+ rating.

Most people don't care whether it's licensed or not unless it's a kickstarter, in which case there are higher expectations. Only big properties or movies with big stars should require kickstarters. Lesser licenses, such as music tracks, or stuff like Ripley's or the Universal Monsters, typically don't, although it's up to the rights holder to ultimately determine a price.

Don't forget the Elvira pinballs didn't need kickstarters either. I wish I could take Scared Stiff out of kiddie mode and still be eligible to ports high scores and unlock goals. As it stands I only bought pro mode to get the "mature" version.

Nah, if stuff like "Scared Stiff" made it into the game, than HRC would've been fine.

I think where the line ends is stuff like TFTC, Big Bang Bar, etc.

Scared Stiff "mature mode" has got to be at least "T" rated material. LOL, choc full of comments and double entendres like "ribbed for your pleasure" and "watch this; I'll get him up" and a DMD animation showing the pinball launching strait into Elvira's cleavage...

And also there's a couple swears present in Mideval Madness. Like every now and then you rescue the damsel she screams, "that's b****in'!"

A thought occurs, not everyone who downloads pinball after dark is going to be aware of pinball arcade, so with that in mind perhaps they will have a free table that comes with the app. Kind of like how Tales of the Arabian Nights is free right now.

Well yeah but imagine someone picks up pinball after dark and has never heard of pinball arcade.

They open the app and nothing's free. Sure there's demo versions of everything but farsight had a 1 freebie model for pinball arcade, it might want to continue it here.

Maybe the freebie will be a smaller game

Edit: I can't imagine someone new to farsight pinball apps opening the app and the app saying "hey if you want a free table download this completely separate app." It would look unprofessional.
