3,000,000 Wizard Goal Too Challenging?

It's a bummer when these old EM machines have (nearly) impossible goals.
It kind of takes the fun out of it when it's this frustrating.

I'd still like to hear who was good enough at Farsight to think 3,000,000 on this machine seemed like a good idea!

Genie isn't an EM ;)

Just take your time, relax, make controlled shots.

When I completed the 3M goal I had the game going when a friend of mine dropped by. I continued playing while we were talking, not paying as much attention to the game as I normally do. Seemed to take the pressure out of playing and the 3M just kind of happened :p

I still believe working pops would make a huge difference up top get multiple hits and possibly more A-D targets and lower left pop might not let the ball roll right by just to drain.

I tend to group non DMD pins as EM, but yeah it's solid state.

Maybe it's easier on an iPad, but you can tell by looking at the PS3 trophy forums that very few people are getting the Wizard trophy on this table.

I'd still like to know which tester at Farsight thought the 3 mil goal was appropriate.

Maybe the high score on the actual Genie they have is around 3 million?

I'm very curious about the process they use to choose high scores. Specifically for this one and Cactus Canyon. Was it based on real life scores? Tester scores? Default high scores programmed into original tables? An official answer on this one would be very interesting. Perhaps for the next audio interview.

Troc: It's amazing you want to spend so much time getting that Wizard Goal. It's the only one I have left and I don't even bother (and I am kind of obsessed of getting those goals). I mean, 1. The goal is just stupid in the first place, 2. The game is by far the most boring/annoying one, 3. It seems that after all that hard work, frustration and sweat you might not even get it registered. Just the risk of that happening puts me off.

I love Wizard goals like the MM BFTK and FunHouse loop ones. They take actual skill, tactics etc. It's difficult but you get closer and closer to the goal and when you are skilled enough, you make it.

I am waiting, probably to no avail, that they will come to their senses and change this wizard goal. Hopefully while resetting the high scores (together with the ones for CC as well)...

Sometimes, I can't believe this product (Pinball arcade), it's is soooo cool in so many ways. Just being able to play pinball like this is amazing! They create all this magic but miss on stuff that just seem stupid. It's like building a rocket ship and put the doorknob only on the inside...and then do it on the second rocket ship, again.

tPA must be easier on a PlayStation than iOS, right? Must be easier to nudge it...

If I look in the HS-list on Android, the highest one is 2.16M. So I’ll believe on Android nobody have reached the 3M. My best one is immo only betw. somewhere 800-900K :(, but with the time, my points are increased. Uncomfortable the table is not this one, which have a lot of interesting effects like other more modern table. So it's a hard challenge. But I’m wondering also, who have had this idea to hang the goal so much high….

I just finally got it. After a while I started getting around 2 mil a lot so I knew eventually I'd have a lucky game.

Thankfully there were no issues with the goal registering..

Troc, or whomever completed this goal and wants to answer this question: I recently went back to trying to achieve this goal. I found that shooting the lit extra balls on the right side is too risky, so I started to ignore them and only go for the rollover extra ball. Is this the method that you used? I find that since I started doing this, I am scoring consistently between 1.5 million and 2 million, but still haven't been able to track my 2.5 million high score. Also, did anyone play with the scoring display turned off? Any other useful tips? I am really getting sick of this table, but it is the only wizard goal I am missing and my ocd isn't letting me give up.

Yeah, you're right. Shot directly the right extra ball often induces an SDTM or the ball goes straight to the left outlane dangerous area.

The special is less risky, but harder to shot.

Also, did anyone play with the scoring display turned off?

I ALWAYS play with the scoring display turned off. All needed informations are already on the table (multiplier, bonus). And the only thing I want to be informed is: "Goal 5 completed". :D

Any other useful tips?

- 3 ball setting
- Very soft nudging

- Rollover, bumper, multiplier target.
- Extra ball targets
- Rollover, bumper, multiplier target.
- Extra ball targets
- Rollover, bumper, multiplier target.
[...]
- Collect the extra ball
- Collect the bonus

And rollover, bumper, multiplier target again.

For me, it's usually only two or three games in a row. The table could be so irritating sometimes that I can't play a lot of games in an unique session.

Thanks, Tann. I finally just got it. I think I got really lucky with the machine awarding me multiple extra balls a few times, but I think leaving the scoring display off really helped. And the recent title update with the ability to turn the 2 stage flippers off helped a lot as well.

I F'ing HATE THIS F'ing TABLE!!!! its a sh*ty table to begin with but then it doesn't play right. I can only stand the ball draining left every time before anger makes me just shut the whole thing down...I played for 6 hours today not even sniffing 2mill.
I seen only 32 people out of 12,000+ (I stopped scrolling afterwards) have got over 3mill. I doubt anyone at FS has achieved this on a PS3.
