Despite its relative age, Stern released an official code update for AC/DC yesterday. Do we know what Farsight's policy on this kind of thing is going to be? I imagine that we might see one on Ghostbusters eventually too - and if they end up supporting the full video SPIKE 2 games, it'll be even...
With Ghostbusters officially being the last traditional DMD game out of Stern (not counting remakes), will SPA support the new display across all platforms?
I got to play a tester Batman 66 last night, and while the code on it was early, what they were doing with the screen was really...
It's a real shame they rushed this out, because I'm certain they'll fix this for all of us soon, but a new version won't wipe the awful reviews on the shop.
In addition to all the other problems, I've got the tiny complaint that the flipper/slingshot sounds are pretty bad.
Fingers crossed that any of this is improved by the time it jumps to Steam.
I played TOTAN and my KS'd T2 last night and had a great time. Sampling the demo tables I was pretty happy too. The game looks great, and I had a few crashes, but I think that was mostly a consequence of screwing around with the graphics options. Given that I don't play this game portably that...
Whomever's fault it is, it's a big bummer that DLC isn't purchasable in Steam directly. Quantity of DLC isn't a big problem either for other games. I hope that they're able to fix this.
I enjoy the layout and the lighting, but the code is super lacking. Supposedly a decent sized update should come for it before the tournament at Expo though, so hopefully that should address the relative simplicity of it at this time.
I hope that a Metallica update is in the pipe now too.
Color DMD wasn't listed in the LE feature list, and the photos of them have the standard DMD. Other than the metal ramps and the extra toys, the neat extra is a projected starfield which everyone is really curious about.
There are two on location in Chicago, and I played one for a while. The...
Cactus Canyon is mostly really expensive because it's extremely scarce. If there were a couple thousand more of them, the price would be much much lower. After all, people aren't fighting over getting the Star Wars Episode One tables floating around out there. Similarly, people aren't chasing...
Stern has been testing out the SAM 2 boards both on their "The Pin" line games, as well as on a couple locations loaded into current machines. Some folks had speculated this would lead to them integrating an LCD into the game, but that appears to not be the case (or delayed down the line to...
I've played WOZ a bunch of times on several locations and have sort of mixed but ultimately positive impressions.
I first played it on the floor of a convention before it was released and before the rules were really set. It didn't quite matter though, because it was just really neat to see a...
I guess I'm the only person that was hoping that this topic was asking Farsight to do a port of the generally unknown Sierra game Take a Break Pinball! Ah well.
Also - I'm fine with two a month, though it's often a treat when I do see tables have been updated.

There's a Big Hurt on location in Chicago I play every now and again, and it's a pretty fun game. An actor buddy of mine was...
Unfortunately, it's super unlikely. Recently Stern was interested in doing another run of them because it's a very popular table. Unfortunately, the licensing fees were much higher than they were initially, because they're no longer interested in making promotional materials for the Raimi...
NBA Fastbreak would be really cool if they found some way to do the link up between tables on PA. I've never played it that way myself, but Fastbreak machines were designed to be linked up like the old NASCAR driving games, and you would compete against other players that way. I've heard it's...
Classic Stern games are great to me. The ones I've managed to play have just enough complexity and interesting designs to keep me coming back pretty regularly. Flight 2000 isn't much different, and I'm really happy to have it.
Like Kolchak, I'm not really sure what to make of Goin' Nuts. I've...
I grew up with a Fireball Classic, so I hope they'd remake that, but it doesn't make much sense. In terms of remakes though, it was a pretty dang good game it was just missing the zipper flippers.
I love the table. Hard as heck, but the interesting layout, the three level rising playfield, and the tricky shots make it a winner for me. Selecting the different doctors at the top doesn't add a huge amount of depth, but it's fun, and gives a little extra strategy to the top of each ball.
