Just submitted my scores. Wow - just embarrassingly bad. Technical issues with an iPad, and fatigue after playing in a match-play style pinball tournament for the last 8 hours. Agh, just not any accuracy left in me, and playing in the car is tricky. (No, I'm not the driver!) Anyway, it was still...
Just signed up! Good luck everyone! For those of you that practice, don't forget to reset your Dr. Dude game before your official entry. No Super Dudes at the beginning of a game. :)
Finished all my tables except for TOTAN. Waiting for an official ruling on EBs before I play that one... What say you, SYT? Tilt it out, or allow one hit?
Looking forward to playing on Saturday!! Been getting some last-minute practice in this week...
Speaking of practice... for those of you that like to practice before doing your official tournament plays: Remember to reset your TZ games before playing for real. The position of the powerball is...
My favorite platform for the longest time was Xbox 360...but that lost support for years, and I got by playing on my iPhone. I was tempted to return to 360, but I think it might be more cost effective to buy a controller for my iPad mini.
What do you all recommend?
What the what?! That was unexpected! :D I was pretty satisfied with 3 out of 4 of my scores, but my Diner score was the pits! Being a "B" player has its perks - I was very lucky in my groupings.
Thank you SYT for running/organizing a fun tournament. I will definitely be back next month, and...
I live close to Charlotte, and the pinball scene has been growing steadily in the past year. Currently, there are three small tournaments a month (8-15 people) in the Charlotte area. In the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area, a friend of mine has just begun organizing a couple tournaments a month...
Glad to be of help! :) Actually, I think what was key to getting my attention was the fact that you have an article about June Sign-ups on the front page of the website. That's excellent visibility, in addition to having a sub-forum.
Thanks to everyone sharing their warm-up methods! vikingerik...
Sadly, I don't think it will help you very much...
Long story short, I had taken a break from TPA for lots of reasons: Xbox 360 support was lost. I got by playing on my phone for awhile. But then I moved to an area with more pins on location, monthly tournaments, etc. and lost interest in video...
As a competitive player IRL, I am happy to comply with that spirit. I will practice until warm, then compete and hope for the best. Thanks for taking the time to answer my query, and thanks for organizing! I wish I had noticed when you started up in February. This will be so much fun! :)
I'm new to TotM, and really looking forward to participating on Saturday! :D
Forgive me if I'm asking a question that has been addressed before, but I didn't see it answered in the FAQ. On Saturday, are we allowed warm-up games before we play our official entries?
Ideally, I would give myself...
Yeah, MOO did seem to shoot up to the top fast - overnight fast. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt - but his last minute high score of 44 mil on Haunted House gives me pause. Is that even possible in 20 minutes?
Also, I managed to get 123 mil on Ripley's - MOO bettered that with...
Nah, I think we should keep it in - and all Xbox players can do their best not to exploit the bug. We are on an honors system already posting these scores.
Plus, with just one ball, one may not even get to the Frankenstein multi ball.
Success! My game is really coming together now. My high score is now just short of 2 Billion (XBox). Thanks for everyone's replies. I played around with the different methods and settled on shutyertrap's suggestion. It's a thing a beauty and doesn't require any nudging.
So, interestingly, I...
