People are seriously overrating Zen and VP, while seriously underrating TPA. Zen is a shady company and none of their releases feel even slightly like actual pinball at all. Meanwhile, all work done in VP is constantly held back by VP itself, no matter how many updates that wretched old thing...
Would you be willing to let anyone who didn't buy the Pro versions of Williams/Bally tables, but did buy the tables themselves, to have the Pro versions after the license expires?
That is a horrific misunderstanding of how PC tech works and how Nintendo works as a business. It also ignores that SPA is not a new game, it's a license-mandated standalone expansion pack at absolute best. Last but not least, it ignores that TPA never had DX11 until recently, that it is...
I think the regular version of that goal works like this as well. I noticed I didn't have it yet, so I went for it... and it didn't register. Accidentally took a right outlane.
The new UI: Seems alright from what I've tried of it, but I still think the older list of tables was better. For the tournaments, do I have to be a particular rank to view that rank's scores now?
Bug?: I didn't see this anywhere, so it might just be me. Gorgar's score display, and only...
So basically never go for multiball because someone didn't check to see if it was exploitable? The difference between a good table and a boring one is almost never a fundamental issue with design and almost always a small exploit or two that needs to be fixed someday, preferably without remaking...
When are we getting Jive Time, anyway?
I think if they try to upgrade the sounds, they oughta go all the way to the dark side: 7-digit hacks, AN to DMD replacements, color DMDs, etc. All should be optional and non-default, as options are great and I feel like the contracts would let them do that.
The new UI seems ok. I kinda like the way everything's set up, but I think the game modes should be the default screen. I don't really like pure symbols for buttons, just put words in the buttons). The new selection cards make it kinda annoying to pick a table, though I commend the attempt to...
Something I've noticed is that any player action to the DMD for any DMD game seems to take a bit to process. For example, in TNG's video mode, it's very hard for me to move accurately. And just now I found this thread.
I've never noticed this on what few real tables I've played (Batman, Fish...
The Getaway is not at all SMB3. I really like The Getaway, but it's almost the exact same game as the original. A more apt comparison would be Raiden to Raiden II, I think. T2 and T3 is Ritchie doing the same thing.
BK2000, on the other hand, is a very different game. Now that would be SMB to SMB3.
"kitschy" isn't a very good word to describe this... also, High Speed uses a lot of "8-bit" (PSG) sounds as is.
edit: "kitschy" isn't a good word at all to describe the original sounds, and "8-bit" is a really bad term to refer to weird bugs. I don't get people and their strange use of language.
The problem isn't the bit about adding funds to the Steam wallet. Also, for the record, you actually have $0.01 left over per item.
The problem is that TPA is an incredibly temperamental program and has a habit of crashing if you even so much as go into menus in a certain sequence. Sometimes...
