I had my ball stuck behind the right troll and the machine went into the kickout procedure and the trolls dropped. I regained control and made a shot, but it was still trying to kickout and then the flippers froze and my ball drained.
I dunno... with the camera angle I use, I can always tell whether or not the left one is lit, but not the right. It's not very hard to deal with it. I think MM and Mars Attacks both have this issue in real life, but it's easier to move your head/lean forward and change your angle.
I'm just taking a stab in the dark, here, but how long did you wait? There is a fairly long cut-scene where nothing is happening in the game. They fly off in the magic carpet and you get 20 million points and it takes at least 30 seconds.
