I've noticed these as well. It would be nice to see them taken care of.

Looks like they isolate pieces of table art to digitize them. Yeah, a bit distracting.

I am getting them too on a Nexus 7. No big deal I am sure it will be fixed.

It's not just Genie, Black Hole has the exact same problem on both play fields.
