In light of the recent switch to 1 table per pack, many of us have grown worried about the future of numeric solid-state tables in TPA. However, I believe I have at least a partial solution—how about completing the PHOF trilogy with a Stern collection? Obviously, the lineup would center around classic Sterns, with a few of the more modern tables added to the stew for flavor and a bit more body. Here's my take on what a solid no-licenses lineup might look like:

* Big Game
* Catacomb
* Checkpoint
* Freefall
* Grand Prix
* High Roller Casino
* Iron Maiden
* Laser War
* Lightning
* Nine Ball
* Orbitor 1
* Seawitch
* Star Gazer
* Stars
* Striker Xtreme
* Time Machine
* Viper

If we can also add in some lighter licenses, these would be some of the leading possibilities:

* The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle
* Big Buck Hunter Pro
* Meteor
* Monopoly
* Roller Coaster Tycoon
* Sharkey's Shootout
* Tales from the Crypt
* Viper Night Drivin'
* World Poker Tour

If we wanted to look at Kickstarter-derived DLC, these would be my picks:
* AC/DC
* Goldeneye
* Jurassic Park
* Lord of the Rings
* Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
* The Simpsons Pinball Party
* Tommy

What do you guys think?

Gotta get Meteor in there. One of their highest production runs and most popular pins. It would be great to see something like that happen. I'd buy it in a second.

Dude, I said something like this months ago soon after Zaccaria Pinball came out. That it would be awesome to have a classic Stern Collection like that.

I did specify no licenses for my initial lineup, though; Meteor is based on the 1979 American International Pictures flop of the same name (I believe that the rights currently rest with MGM, in case you were wondering). Still, no likenesses or music would make it an absolute bagatelle to acquire as licenses go, so I'll add a list of licenses that I think could be added to PHOF Stern with little trouble.

It would seem great minds think alike, then, eh?

I would love to see more older Sterns in TPA, or if necessary a Stern collection as suggested.

I don't know too many Stern tables, but I saw a video on Laser War and hope to play that sometime.

I think the only way to get some of the more classic tables would be to do either a disc collection or a 4-6 pack of tables for early Sterns, any EM collection or even early Bally/Williams tables. I think the Data East-present Sterns stand to do fine on their own, granted the ones without license may not draw as many folks in.

Just noticed Checkpoint on the top list. I love the game, but it is actually a licensed theme. It features Porsche, including a 911 toy on the playfield with a Porsche logo on it. Plus, the drop targets spell C-A-R-R-E-R-A.

EA has a grip on the Porsche license to tight that even MS had to negotiate with them to get Porsche in Forza.
