Hey Farsight, im just saying.

50% off season 1 would be pretty cool.

Would probably get you some season 2-4 sales down the road.

Just saying.

Yes, TPA participated in the Steam summer sales with 25% on Season 1, 10% on Season 2 and 1 ct. for the Launch Pack. But Steam has many sales. Spring Sale, Summer Sale, Halloween Sale, Black Friday Sale, Christmas Sale. Did I forget any?

This game was a flop from the get-go. What a stupid ass business model - "Duh, we're gonna base our game out of the AppStore, make it free-to-play, and let anybody play any level they want without paying for it. Then we are going to charge a ridiculous amount for each individual table and scratch our heads wondering why nobody is buying it."

You dig your own grave in this industry.

How do you know TPA was a flop? Have you seen any of the sales results? Even the most seasoned TPA members on this site have no access to credible sales numbers.

And "charging a ridiculous amount for each individual table?" It's far less ridiculous than trying to track down each individual table, get it into your living quarters, and, oh by the way, you may still have to pay hundreds for parts and countless hours on maintenance.

I'm no fan of the "free-to-play" model of games, or whatever they call that model this week. And yes, I have been critical of FarSight and the fact that TPA needs extra attention and fast. I'm still a fan of TPA. My credentials include owning every table and more than 200 hours logged in. Answer me this: where else can you play more than 50 simulated classic pinball tables legally? (With emphasis on "legally" BTW.)

Obviously nobody is gonna buy each individual $5000 pinball table.

My point comes from a PS4 standpoint, the game is dead in the water on that console. This game came out swinging strong but died hard after the WEAK follow-up content on PS4. Season 2 has been "COMING SOON" forever. It's like they actually want you to download the app and just play them all for free. This is undoubtedly the best pinball game of all time but their business model is so stupid.

- Why are my PS4 high scores mixed in with iOS & PC high scores? That takes the point right out of it.

- Season 2 is beyond overdue.

- $8 per table? Yeah right. I think you guys need to release another season pack.

- They've been saying they were going to fix the PS4 glitches for ages & haven't.

If they would have released an actual hard copy version of season 2 and put it on store shelves this Christmas they would have made a killing, but nope. Let the kids download every table for free and play to your heart's content instead!

So it turns out the table packs DID come out already.

WHY DON'T YOU ADVERTISE ON THE PLAYSTATION STORE FOR ONCE?!?!?!

Rent a nice little piece of real estate front & centre on the playstation store so everybody sees it, MONEY WELL SPENT. Don't tuck it away off it the farthest realm of the store where ghosts won't even see your game for sale!!! So dumb, everything about it. If it's Sony's problem as to why you can't properly advertise then **** them with a chainsaw, seriously.

I don't think the free to trial status is silly at all, I find it extremely valuable to get an idea if I want to buy a new table or not.

I purchased hundreds of games on Xbox Live Arcade purely based on being able to free trial every single one of them first, I have next to none on PSN due to not being able to and being burned buying a few that sounded good but I did not like when I played them. Free trials should be mandatory across all games in my opinion, I hate that Microsoft dropped that stipulation on Xbox One games.

As for releasing tables, part of the problem is they are fighting against rules and regulations of various companies. Season 2 was delayed on PS4 because Microsoft insisted they do so until the Xbox One version launched.

Now you might think they should tell Microsoft to get lost, but even if the potential market on Xbox One is not necessarily a make or break business deal, the fact they would also be cutting off all those Xbox 360 owners who were finally going to get their platform updated would be a HUGE deal. They are simply trying to make the best of a s***ty situation.

As for advertising on the Playstation Store, I have no idea how that works and neither do you. Its not necessarily as easy as we might think to get things featured on there. I suspect Pinball Arcade is mostly advertised by word of mouth/pinball enthusiasts anyway, so if it costs to become a featured game it wouldn't necessarily be cost effective.

Farsight make plenty of mistakes, but I do not believe any of them are deliberate and they are CERTAINLY not exclusive to the PS4 version. All platforms have issues, the project is just too big for the number of staff they have dedicated to it and I don't believe the game is profitable enough to hire more.

I think a few posters got lost somewhat as this is the PC forum. lol

But i did just get to play PBA on the PS4, now i will say the new lighting stuff is great, but in no way is it worth spending plus £300 to get, i will happily wait for it to appear on the PC, plus i am still of the opinion that the detail of the tables is far better on the PC than on this PS4 version as is the sound, but that might be because i have a nice sub woofer for my PC sound wise and the PS4 was just through the TV.

The PS4 Season 2 retail disc release will be end jan. or early feb. in europe.
