Oh hey, another shmup fan! Didn't think there was many of those over in this side of the web.
Another shmup guy here as well, though I'm not a bullet hell player. Raiden 3 and 4, Resogun, Soldner, etc are more my style. I'm a PS3/PS4 guy and there's lots of games in XBLA that I wouldn't mind having...

Nothing wrong with the Raiden series. I have the PS1 Raiden Project disc (which I play on PSXe on PC), 3 on steam, 4 and RFL on the 360. Love those games despite my putrid skills at them. Oh, and "Toaplan Forever!"

But back to TPA on the 360. For me, it's a coin toss if I'm going to buy the rest of the tables there, being that I've moved on to the PC for my TPA fix. The 10 tables still sound better than the PC version IMO. If the rest of the package is good enough........

I like an occasional shoot'em up, myself (Gradius, 1942, Side Arms). But for TPA, I've got $50 of Gamestop cards locked and loaded (along with over $50 in my xbox wallet) for the re-release. Standing by..................

Raiden Project was actually the very first game I bought for my PS1. Got a ton of enjoyment out of that. I sold that a long time ago. I bought another copy of it a few months back and play it occasionally on my PS3. It holds up really well. The game is now something of a rarity and sells for decent money for a full, boxed copy with intact box. Loved those old boxes for the PS1 games but they were pretty darn fragile.

And if you want to see putrid skills, just watch me play sometime. I'm pretty terrible at all forms of shooters (except, oddly enough, Time Pilot) but I still love playing them.

I will definitely check out the free trial of the 360 version when it hits (just because of how long we waited), but I've moved on to the Xbox One version. I just wish I could use the bumpers to control it.

I had Raiden Project on my old, original, PS1 (or actually now I think of it - I got it after I'd upgraded to PS2 in 2002-ish) - had to get it off eBay 'cos it was something of a rarity by then. When I moved to the States, I sold all my PS1 games and PS2 stuff to my sister. Kinda dumb 'cos it included a VGC, original, 1997, Final Fantasy VII, probably worth a darn sight more than everything else put together.

Actually maybe my sister still has all that stuff, or it's at my parent's place, since she moved to New Zealand a few years ago.

Just like TPA-where I think I'm doing well because my score on a TPA table wallops anything I ever scored on the real thing. Then I get humbled when I see some serious sick scores on the leaderboards.

Good to see people on the boards with that kind of attitude!

Do you still have and use a 360 to play this on when it comes out?

Mine red dotted on me last weekend...I'm pretty well done with MS consoles at this point...I'm not in a terrible hurry to replace it as I now have a trilogy of metroid prime games to play (sadly not "Metroid Prime Trilogy" lol)

Yeah more trouble than its worth to me at this point and they all look like temp fixes.

Mine has a lot going on it the drive is wonky and now this. Might replace it bit it won't be a common system in homes come 10 years from now with its failure rate.

That's too bad about the RROD, not sure what they run on the other side of the Detroit River, but if you ever cross the border you can find them over here at around $50 for a bare-bones unit nowadays. Heck, I'll probably sell one of my black 120gb elite for around that price following the holidays, especially if you don't need the controller.

I can't exactly get to Detroit as I don't have a passport or enhanced license (the game papers please is a windsor detroit border sim). I just got a Wii U so it will hold me off but I do have a lot of games for 360

I'll see about it when I feel I Ned to replace it. I'm pretty pissed at MS right now thanks to their unreliability but that will pass and I'll want another one.

Shocker-nothing in the newsletter about the 360 version. So much for that alleged "new publisher".

Think I'll get TPA on the WiiU instead. Oh wait........

They said it's in testing. Forgot if it's internal or Microsoft. That said, they really need to say more about it, even if it's just "hey guys, the 360 version is still in testing [or certification], we hope to have it to you _______."

No. People here use those dates as absolutes. Everyone says they just want to hear something, but then they ***** about what they hear.

Doesn't need to be a firm date, and they probably can't give a firm date due to legalities with Microsoft, on top of the usual issues that find a way to pop up and derail testing/certification. But if they have a rough timeline that they're attempting to follow, give it. And update people along the way, especially since some believe the whole thing is a smokeshow. I don't feel that way, but the lack of information just fuels that portion of the fanbase. X360 is still in TPA's promo materials and it's long since been off XBLA due to the Crave issues. So for people who see their site or newsletter for the first time, and see X360 in their marketing materials, those new people are going to wonder where the game is.

TPA/Farsight can't just market to us, the TPA community. They need new eyes and new players. The PS4 retail version may help, though information on Alliance is pretty bare, which doesn't give me a lot of confidence about how that'll last. I hope it does, but the lack of a track record (aside from their sister distribution company) gives me a little caution.
