What did I miss?
I quoted a deleted post (retrieved from email) and the mod edited it. And he only revealed the existence of leaked info, not the contents of the leak itself. If the mods are actively deleting or editing user posts, I think it's safe to say further discussion of withheld information is not allowed.

I'm shocked there hasn't been a last minute push for Paragon, as desperate as some of you are. If one does indeed happen, than Paragon deserves to win.

Haha not quite yet. It's always a fun day when a new table comes in.

Just curious... how tricky is it to get ahold of the machines you need to recreate? Has there ever been a situation where you've had to delay or cancel a planned table because there wasn't one on the market? I don't expect you to name names of course! In fact, I half don't expect you to answer :p

Other than heretic, who here is really "desperate" for it?

While the Charlie Hebdo massacre is a very important subject, and deserves to be talked about at length, I'm going to ask that people do so in this thread and keep the rest of the forum dedicated to pinball.

I've moved the post that used to be in this spot to that thread already.

I voted for Xenon. I still have found memories of playing this pin. I dont know if it is possible with the current TPA engine, but I would love to see a Pinball 2k table eventually make its way on the scene. I love playing me some Revenge From Mars :)

Is it like the Mars Attacks or whatever it's called table where you can score billions of points and smack the flying saucer with your pinball?

One potential issue with post-2000 tables is they're probably running beefier processors (Pentium MMX, Power PC, MIPS, or later ARM), possibly even full blown desktop CPUs, and the display matrix is probably running fmv animations. Even if the tech could have been pulled off on lesser hardware, tables would be easier to program with a beefier-than-needed cpu. Xbox One or PS4 could emulate say a Pentium MMX or equivalent (x86 instructions could even run natively), but an ARM or mobile platform would probably struggle emulating a 32-bits or higher CPU running at more than a few megahertz.

Well, to all those whining about Paragon falling behind, I've got two words: "Sex sells."

Seriously, there's barely a dozen votes separatimg the two. By all means, if you're on the fence and haven't voted yet, feel free to do so. Honestly I hope they tie. Then Farsight will have to do the double-pack! ;)

The biggest challenge with Pinball 2000 is not emulating the board, which I'm assuming is an evolution of the WPC board used in previous DMDs and is fully emulated, but the fact there's a CRT screen and mirror set up built into the cab to project floating images over the playfield. I'm not sure what the CPU drives that, I'm sure one of the more technically-minded members will be able to break it down.

I know that Jersey Jack has a Linux box in the main cabinet of their tables. This is why we won't be seeing WoZ any time soon if ever!

It's the sequel to AFM. And a good one!

WWE will have Linux inside, too. So we can rule out all Sterns from now on appearing, if we couldn't before!

Yeah I figured there might be something small-but-powerful after seeing the pics of the inside of that backbox. Probably packing more power in that much more compact unit that ten SAM boards.

Don't blame JJP and Stern for using Linux. So many benefits with using an Open-Source OS and none of the limitations when using a proprietary OS.

I'm just surprised it took Stern so long to make that jump. The issue is probably now not emulating Linux, since now there isn't any ROM to emulate. It's going to be grabbing the driver software and re-compiling it for whatever platform you want it to run on. Then it just becomes an issue of, can the hardware handle the software? The assumption here is it's all C++ which is portable enough.

Xenon for sound and Paragon for gameplay.
I heard Xenon is to easy, is this correct?
But I would, but I wouldn't mind a easy pin.
I have trouble with Black Knight and Black Knight 2000.
sThis a really hard ones or not?
No ballsave and BK2000 is really fast sometimes in the down playfield, the red flashing rotating lights don't make it easier for me.
I find it hard to track the ball when it's so fast and table is fast flashing.
What a beast, but I like sometimes a good challenge.
Which one is the hardest pinball table in TPA so far?

Thanks for the fast reply.
Genie and Bigshot are a lot easier for me as Black Knight and BK2000.
I agree Fish Tales is hard too, played it last night.
The original Black Knight is a draining monster for me, most of the time I lose the ball at the left outlane.
No ball save at the beginning is strange, was it meant that way, a hard table for hardcore players?
For me it looks like it was a coin eating monster back in the day.
I like both BK´s but they a hard for me, I need more practice.
Now I want to play Paragon if its more challenging as Xenon but I voted already for Xenon.
Would like to play both pins and Sorcerer from Williams.
Played it on xbox360 PHOF but selled it.
By the way I would like to know which pin Farsight would choose Xenon or Paragon.
