I think the thing to keep in mind is that with the newer tables, there is a point where you don't feel a need to play them. Just like with video games...you beat the wizard mode or boss and get the ending and what's left? Sure they are fun but the older tables like Gorgar and Centaur are just brutally challenging and all about getting high scores in the same way Pac-Man, Galaga and other old video games have a replay value not found in modern games that you beat and then sell or forget about.

When I ran an arcade back in the 80's, we had a name for those games that people stopped playing after they achieved the wizard goal - "$100 games." Dragon's Lair was one of the first $100 games; you spent (on average) $100 on it, saved the princess, and you were done, never to return. Whereas Centaur, Robotron, Galaga, Tempest, Centipede, Black Knight and the like kept you playing until you (a) rolled the high score or (b) had to leave for the day.

When I need a quick pinball (TPA) fix, I almost always go to tables like Centaur, Firepower, and Black Hole because I can get right into the fun as opposed to slogging through a bunch of shots in order to get a reasonable score. I really enjoy many of the wizard mode tables too, but they've gotta be fun on the way to wizard mode.

Maybe it's just me, but the logic in some of the choices for the Pinball packs just baffles me. For instance, Central Park and Big Shot would have made a perfect pair, as would Elvira and Scared Stiff. They could have lumped Pinbot and Bride of Pinbot together. Funhouse and Circus Volitare would play nice as well. Then pair Theater of Magic with Ripley's. Gorgar and Centar seem pretty in sync. No Good Gophers would pair well with Tee'd Off obviously since they're both golf themed.

And yes, I know most of those tables were released at different times and what not, but by releasing themed packs, get people more of what they want. Everybody seems complain that they always get a turd with every gold nugget. And for some reason Goin' Nuts was everyone's turd that they got with Flight2000, but it's my "nugget". I'll buy all of them anyway. I also forgot most of the packs and what went with what because they're all lumped alphabetically in my tables list.

If Big Shot and Central Park were in a pack together I would skip that pack. I don't find EM tables fun at all and that's a personal preference. Farsight is pretty clever in releasing table packs. There will be a table that many people want and they will pair it up with a table most players will want to pass up. Example

Elvira Scared Stiff/Big Shot
Attack from Mars/Genie
Cactus Canyon/Central Park

Attack from Mars was a must for me. I would have preferred another table other than Genie. The Scared Stiff pack was ok probably my least favorite pack but I do enjoy Scared Stiff occasionally. Cactus Canyon was a must an in my top ten TPA list so far. Central Pork..... not.

So to speculation? Tee'd off looks interesting but haven't seen a decent gameplay vid around. If it's High speed then that would be awesome. Fish Tales? Yes sir! But if Sorcerer is there, I wouldn't mind I guess. From this gameplay, it looks kind of boring and I love williams pins of the 1980's era. Fireball? No. No. and No! Sorry EM tables Aren't my thing.

Centaur and Pin*Bot is a good pack. Although I still play other tables more. Again table of the 80's I will play tons. usually tables with some sort of mutiball. EM machines and single ball pins like Gogar not so much.

Enough with the literalism. Go back and look at the complaining about that pack and then come back and look at the same complaining about this one.

I'm not sure I understand the 'skip a pack' mentality. Can anyone actually name any two tables that aren't with $5? If you have financial difficulties that's one thing but I just can't imagine passing on the chance to get free play on ANY two machines for less than the cost of a value meal at WacArnold's.

For me, I have iOS and X360. I have been patient with the XB situation and originally intended it to be my main platform to play on. I intended to buy all the packs on it (and probably still do, unless I move on to a next-gen console to make my primary but I digress). For my iOS, those are games I can just bust out on the subway, on a break at work, on the toilet (too much info) and enjoy the heck out of for a game or two. But I skip a pack or two because it isn't games I love. I skipped HD/Taxi since I don't care for either of those very much and will likely do the same with the next pack. Eventually all of them will be bought on my primary but I will skip those packs that I don't care much about on my secondary.
I know this ventures into the realm of buying multiple platforms but it isn't a far stretch for people on only one system. Why buy something that takes up space and costs money if you will definitely not be playing it regularly if ever? It is a great price but to that individual it isn't a great value because they wouldn't use it. If they put lettuce on sale for 10 cents at the market it would be a ridiculously awesome price. I personally hate lettuce and am not taking an art class where I need to draw it so it has no value to me. Not to mention it takes away valuable fridge space that could be used for real food like slabs of beef.

Certainly, if your playing on multiple platforms I wouldn't suggest buying every table for every platform. I don't buy every iOS table (if for no other reason than that I can't nudge) but half of the fun of pinball arcade is discovery. Either finding new tables you didn't know you liked, or learning more about a table you thought you hated. You may not have liked Taxi when you played it IRL but I bet you didn't have a detailed rules sheet and access to the operators menu.

Well, the mamushka would have to be for the music alone (which might not even be copyrighted, considering Williams were willing to reuse it for a mere gimmick/reference). That's still a pretty far step from a full movie with actors and voice clips, based on popular comic characters.
