    AGE of TPA players

I'm 50 if you credit me my final trimester in utero, and I feel like my new cohort is in greater need of representation. Now bring on some of those mid-seventies Bally classics!

    Playing without trapping?

How often do you see a soccer player one-timing a ball if he can trap it instead? Bowen Kerins compared it to the difference between hitting a pitched baseball versus one that is sitting up on a tee. Now I'm not sure even Barry Bonds could hit a tee-ball out of the park, but in pinball you can...

    Bug Android Version 1.20.0 Bugs

Much easier! Even if toggling that always worked perfectly on that other menu, it still requires calling down that menu, fiddling around some, and then dismissing the menu. If only each table would remain the way it was set the last time it was played, it wouldn't matter that the menus are such...

    Bug Android Version 1.20.0 Bugs

Sorry if this has been addressed somewhere else, but I looked and don't see it. On both of my android devices, a Droid Razr Maxx and a first gen Nexus 7, I have a heck of a time toggling between the scrolling and locked camera views. Tapping the screen there just cycles the menu item one lower...

    The future of pinball

Who said anything about 1000 units? When you want a printout of some PDF file you've found on the internet, would you print it out a thousand times? I'm talking about home users printing out "Ringmasters" that are based on a personal photograph, or re-imagined ramps that change gameplay. At...

    The future of pinball

The next revolution in pinball is going to be driven by 3D printing. At first it will be things like replacement playfield toys and ramps for existing games, but eventually you'll see people producing entirely new games.

Whelp 1000 points on my first night playing

I came to this forum expecting to find this exact thread

Dumb Question but what is TPA ?

Yep. It was two quick days of amazing pinball at the PHoF and their annex at the Riviera, then LAS to IAH (Houston) on a 757 and IAH to TPA on a 737. The only problem was I didn't get enough pinball.

Well, Now I Own A Pinball Machine Too!

You made a great choice. Get it playing FAST and you will never get tired of playing it.

Dumb Question but what is TPA ?

Funny you should ask - my plane landed there not ninety minutes ago. Where was I you ask? Hint: I played TPC.

....just finished my first tournament ...As a tournament director!

Two things make it worse in my particular case - I've been all over Austria, but the closest I've been to Australia is Singapore; and the fact that I was just chatting with Mayuh about the pinball expo in Germany. I remember watching that tourney clip of Taxi and thinking how strange it was...

    Centaur Screens

Great video, but does anyone believe the FarSight version is going to play like that? My money says the TPA version of Centaur will play quite a bit faster (fine by me!) and the other difference I'd wager on will be flipper dynamics. Will TPA try to emulate the odd, floppy nature of the Bally...

Popeye Saves The Earth isn't that bad!

I yam armed and ready to save the planek! I love this pin, but by way of full disclosure, I once named a cat "Olive Oyl" after seeing Shelley Duvall hit that role into the upper decks.

Classic Stern Poll - Official FarSight Poll (Closed)

I'm sorry, but that is weak. When the poll is closed, the winner should be announced. Nobody should sit on the results of an open election. Or maybe we should have another poll: Should FarSight tell us who WINS these polls? or Let's start a poll to see which table people THINK won the LAST...

....just finished my first tournament ...As a tournament director!

Great video! And your Taxi plays super with nice strong flippers, something which is great to see on an eighties game. And by the way, Aussie accents go over huge around here for some reason (although I confess I had a girlfriend who hated my frequent attempts at one) so don't be shy about...

Pinball Hall of Fame, Las Vegas

Very smooth! Who would think to actually get MARRIED in order to play pinball? That is extreme!! But it sounds like it was worth the sacrifice; how often do you get a chance to play The Pinball Circus? That right there is worth putting into a pre-nup! Congrats!!

Tourney Tomorrow At Flippers in NC

Played in the tournament and had a blast, but I somehow failed to qualify! I'll confess to not trying too hard; I quit trying to improve my scores just a little after 4pm in deference to folks closer to the bubble for instance, but by way of further confession, I doubt that any effort by me on...

Tourney Tomorrow At Flippers in NC

www.flippersarcade.com Just happened to wander into Flippers Variety & Arcade in Grandy, North Carolina (wink wink) to find the place mostly empty of players (4 or so) but full of gleaming pinball machines. Then I noticed that nearly every machine in the place had a credit in it, just waiting...

Earlier "Space Shuttle" game by Sega

This is nothing less than a breach of national security. What started with Japan helping themselves to the intellectual property of our space program and pinball industry has led to a situation where the rogue nation of North Korea is threatening us with ballistic nukes! Data East was a Trojan...
