Does METAL contain abilities of DirectX 11 for Pinball Arcade?

It would be nice if the Mac version of Pinball Arcade had the newer lighting effects of DirectX11 mode in the Windows version. With the advent of METAL on OSX and potentially higher performance, it begs the question of whether the METAL API for Mac could handle the lightning effects of...

    NO FEAR: Dangerous Sports Issues

I just fired No Fear for OS X here from Steam and I immediately noticed decal/light glitches on the table. The AutoFire flasher is the worst (looks horrible). The Spin light goes "dark" when it lights up around the edges and several other lenses have areas that are slightly darker on the lit...

    No Fear released on iOs

Does the iOS No Fear have glitches on the Autofire and Spin decals when they flash like the OS X version does?

    Battlefront

Speak for yourself. I've ignored 99.9% of all multiplayer games due to CHEATING, which is incessant in multiplayer games on the PC (Borderlands2 being the exception since there's no incentives to cheat against each other since you work together). I remember playing Star Wars Galactic...

    No Fear released on iOs

No release for Mac yet. No Fear was the first table I ever made completely solo for Visual Pinball so I was looking forward to comparing it. I guess I could boot up my Windows machine to try it. Judge Dredd could really use the Prototype mode with a working Dead World, though, but I could say...

No frankenstein on Steam - It's been a week!

Frankenstein? What about No Fear? Steam says it was released on Nov 27th, but they must mean Windows only. It says iOS version released so now the Mac version appears to be behind all the other versions. I just got a FireTV. It'd be nice if I could play that version without having to re-buy...

Mac - Request Mac Feature Wishlist

You can find the PDF real world pinball manuals for these tables here (http://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals/manuals_pinball.php ) among other places. The "Pro" menus are just the standard operator menus on the real machines. I'd like to see DX11 style lighting implemented with the new Metal...

Bug Slow downs on rMBP and El Capitan

From what you two are saying, it sounds like both the Mac Pro's AMD GPU and the NVidia GeForce GTX 775M have the same issue. I merely have an Intel 4000HD and I don't seem to have the issue until I turn up settings too high. But that brings about my next question. How long does it typically...

Bug Slow downs on rMBP and El Capitan

I don't know if he'll even be able to even FIND the problem. As I've mentioned above, this same problem appears in the PC (Windows) version if you don't have enough CPU (or more likely GPU) power for a given resolution and/or feature setting. I get ZERO slow-downs on my 2012 Quad i7 Mac Mini...

    Linux version status

After comparing the Mac version under El Capitan to the PC version under Windows XP on the same machine (2012 Mac Mini), the PC version looks better lighting-wise, but the gameplay definitely feels faster/harder on the Mac version. I was just killing on the PC version without even trying, but...

    New physic`s 3.0

Same here and it's the opposite for me in real life (i.e. I can drop catch easily; I don't live catch all the time) so the tables feel odd since I'm live catching constantly without trying at all. I'd rather have the feature turned off or not exist than be implemented so poorly, but that's just me.

Red tint/saturation in TPA DX9. & DX11 on my PC... Please help!

Windows DX9 version here does that pinkish lighting on my Mac mini running Windows, but the Mac version has no such issue with the same computer/GPU (and seems to run faster/harder gameplay as well), but it's a lot "brighter" looking than the DX9 version on most tables so it's a trade-off...

    Too easy tables (PC version)

I just tried Pinball Arcade on my Mac Mini under El Capitan with the Mac version from Steam and for whatever reason, the tables ran a LOT faster in terms of ball play and difficulty. Where I could easily play for over and hour on Firepower, Junkyard and Circus Voltaire on the Windows version...

Bug Slow downs on rMBP and El Capitan

I don't know about the Mac version slowdowns for sure, but I do know that only happens on the PC version when your hardware is not capable of running the table at the given resolution or settings (e.g. ball reflection option needs more GPU power as well). Macs generally have weak GPUs and given...

Barely more new good tebles ?

I'd like to see some Sega/Data East tables show up, namely Jurassic Park, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Lethal Weapon 3 and both Star Wars tables, probably in that order based on how much I played them. I only got to play Goldeneye once, but it seemed fun at the time as well. Gottlieb's Stargate would...

    Too easy tables (PC version)

I don't know what pinball Universe you live in, but the mere fact the Mac version (or PC on a table that's too much for a given CPU) goes into "slow motion" mode while say in Multiball in Junkyard means I can play INDEFINITELY tells me YES, speed has a LOT to do with difficulty. When the Raptor...

What implications does the new Stern-Pinball Arcade app have for PC?

Real machines they no longer sell (i.e. production lines over..kaput; you get only get them USED for LOTS of money)....yeah makes sense.

    Too easy tables (PC version)

Well, I (PacDude) did make many of these tables myself for Visual Pinball and slope was always an option. For a few tables, I even had a easy/hard setting because SOME arcades had steeper slopes than others and some didn't like really fast gameplay. In ALL cases, I left the tables modifyable...

    Too easy tables (PC version)

Well with the release of F-14, I can safely say that table slope is a HUGE part of the problem. F-14 actually has a fairly steep slope and the game play is SO much better. Now if only I could select that slope for Firepower, High Speed and a few others and slightly less than that for TAF/TZ...

    New physic`s 3.0

Ok, I had the terms mixed up (live catch being the reverse of a drop catch, but more angle dependent; I never really tried to do these "live catches" in real life (I did drop catches all the time, which are far easier to do, IMO), thus, I must be "accidentally" getting live catches all the time...
