Pinball Rocks HD is now up in the iOS App Store. The app is free. But I assume there are lots of in app purchases if you want everything.

I played a few games and it is more of the same. The music does make it much better, but it still got boring pretty quickly. And as usual with this company my previously purchased Slayer table does not transfer over to this app.

Um, what is this nickel and dime? Seriously? Well I would think Sony is trying to take pinball back to its roots, or routes if you prefer. Don't you typically plug in nickels and dimes (or quarters) to play ...

there are 4 tables that can be purchased for $2.99 each and the extra balls and multiballs are called cheats it comes with 3 extra balls and two multiball cheats . If you ignore the cheats its a good game you can earn extra balls at 5,000,000 and so on. the only issue is along the left center of the table(s) it says cheats and you can't hide it if you tap it it shows how many extra balls and multiballs you have. it stays on the screen all through game play. As you can see i have no resistance to anything pinball one look was all it took and downloaded this already and have been playing.

at end of game pop up comes up do you want to use extra ball. if you click yes and dont have any it gives another popup do you want to buy extra balls. there is no way to disable this charade best you can do is keeping tapping no to the popups and let game end. Otherwise if you liked other game pro tables these are not bad to fiddle with although games can get long like others. The in app purchases also include each song title used and ball savers. you can turn music off in settings.

In the words of King Arthur: RUNAWAAAAY. Ok maybe a bit harsh but I am actually waiting for those flippers to spin 360 degrees. The angle on them is just mindblowingly bad. Nothing has changed for the better since Ac/Dc and Slayer so if anyone liked those tables then go ahead and enjoy yourself. This is one app that will never get any more doe from me. Sorry, Sony. Why dont you just hire Farsight to do a proper Ac/Dc table for you ;)

alice in chains and the valentines one just arrived as an IAP update to HD pinball. gets rid of the cheats found in the pinball rocks app however the pinball rocks table was not ported over so you have to keep the pinball rocks app for that table if you liked it .

Good news everybody. Not only can we get these tables in this new collection, and in Pinball HD like mentioned above, but we can also purchase this pretty much everywhere else. No, the standalone apps aren't available yet, like they are for the AC/DC and Slayer tables, so we can only buy these two five times, not six.

- Pinball HD for iPhone
- Pinball HD Collection for iPhone
- Pinball HD
- Pinball HD Collection
- Pinball Rocks HD

And more good news, for the OCDers out there that gotta have them all. You can’t get the generic new Pinball Rocks table in any of the old 'n busted legacy collections, so you'll have to keep Pinball Rocks on your device alongside your other collection of tables. So even though you might unlock these rock-themed tables elsewhere, you still get to spend hundreds of megabytes in useless storage for the not-unlocked redundant versions that already exist inside of Rocks. Awesome.

Yep i "unlocked" alice in chains and bullet for my valentine in the Pinballs rocks app. I did not know there was a release forthcoming a day or so later for the older apps. Of course i wanted those tables without the darn "cheats charade" so i had the joy of purchasing them again in the older APP. On the Pinball rocks APP they should do it like TPA does only download table if you want it so it does not have to be stored twice. And i wish they would loose that foolish cheat nonsense OR let one choose what to do with an EARNED extra ball save it for later or play it in current game. Same with multiball and ball savers . I just hope people don't really fall for the gag of "buying" these "cheats".

An update was just released. [iTunes link]

What's new in Version 1.0.1:

  • You asked for Pinball Rocks to get louder – and we made it louder!
  • Want to see what a table looks like before you unlock it? Just tap the image of the table in the main menu to check out a detailed preview video, set to the sound of one of that table's high octane anthems
  • Try before you buy option: now available for our premium tables (AC/DC, Alice In Chains, Bullet For My Valentine, Slayer). Give them all a shot!
  • New Game Center achievements for Pinball Rocks, Alice In Chains, and Bullet for My Valentine tables
  • Music page: all songs purchased download directly to your device's Music library
  • Alice In Chains Pinball Rocks: Updated "Hollow" Mini-game
  • Easier access to menus
  • Improved mechanics, graphics and bug fixes

UPDATE: last night (7/19/13) i get an HD Pinball update on my iPad. This is the one with the blue icon. I let it update. When i opened it now all the tables feature the CHEATS feature complete with with the cheats tap on the left side of every table like in the Pinball rocks APP. This was the last straw i bought these APPS and not to look at "buyware charades like this". Both it and pinball rocks were escorted into DELETE the APP land where all apps i will never use again go. I am trying to keep wild west and the deep single table apps if game pro does not trash those too. If he trashes those as he trashed the above then all game pro is gone . My objections is an "cheats" icon that links to charades i can't hide in my face on every table on APPS i already paid for. There is a green icon HD collection APP however i expect this charade to be added to that APP as well.

Update #2 7/20/13 the green icon HD collection also has an update that contains the "cheat" "feature". In addition to the cheats icon on left table side you also get a new pop up on all tables at end of game "do you want to use an extra ball" just like in Pinball Rocks that you must click / tap through.

This was just released for Android. I haven't played much of the free table yet but the full screen ads that take you completely out of the game are super cool.

I noticed that today and was pleasantly surprised to see it on Google Play. Considering HD Collection isn't available on Android, I'm going to get some of the tables on the Pinball Rocks app there.
