Thanks for all your work! I was scared to join in on the tournaments, but I'm glad I did. But most especially I like TotW -- the focus on one table really helps me to improve my game.

SYT you've got the ToM scoring wrong. Switch and Rushdude on the exact same score? Vikingerik had more than 2B right? My score is off as well so there must have been some sort of mixup.

Looks like a bunch of no-shows this tournament? I see there were a few changes in the groups. Great that you sort that stuff out!

Nuts! i must have entered the wrong ToM score :/

Thanks for a great Tourny yet again shutyertrap!

Shutyertrap, I think you got my Theatre score wrong, I remember scoring 2.2 billion on that table.

Okay, okay! Damn you guys jumped on that quick :D

Simple copy and paste error on my part. This is why Xanija's spreadsheet is so important to me...it eliminates human error. He might even be working on a way of eliminating it from entering here on the forum. Anyways, all fixed now.

I think a lot of people are intimidated at first, or it's what prevents them from joining in at all. I think you can attest to it not being so scary after all! Next month, top 10 for you, yeah?

Man now I'm really annoyed about bricking my last ball on ToM!
Yeah that was close. I bricked my last ball too.

I appreciate ToM a lot more after playing it as the weekly table, which is a really cool thing about the whole ToTW idea. More members should join in on the fun!

I'm wondering if BoP has no limit to possible billions off the big wheel. I read somewhere that it was 8B max, so I figured the top leaderboard spots were all doing the heartbeat-nudge-skillshot thingy which must take forever to get to 30B+. I got 9B off the wheel so if there's a limit it's not 8. It would still take a considerable amount of time with the billion shot available, but not as bad as I thought.

I'm glad this Excel exercise was useful for you, SYT. A few improvements here and there and I think next tournament will hopefully be less than an hour of work including posting of the results. :)

You'll get me there, I'm sure!

Is there a rule that a score of 1 gets 4 points, even if in a group of 3? I'm looking at vikingerik's BK2K score, and it looks like you gave him 4 points for it. (And also mrhorseshoe's 1 on WWater.)

If vikingerik has 38, that ties for the most points, so since he had the highest ToM score, and that was the Put Up table, why isn't he ranked #1?

Yes, 4 points is given as a courtesy, a "thanks for showing up" if you will. This is regardless of how many are actually in the group. As for why he isn't ranked #1, it's because the other 3 people actually played all 4 tables, and therefore carry more weight. If there was another person in that group who also played only 3 tables, then the Put Up table would determine things once more.

Interestingly enough, it is vikingerik's choice of not playing but one table last month that even put him into this position this month. He fell out of the top ten, but then earned bonus points this go around for beating top ten players in his groups. Without those bonus points, he would not have had the same 38 points our other 3 did.

Make sense?

Thank you for the tourney shutyertrap. This was my first time competing in any sort of TPA tournament and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I really like the format (two games, plunge away all extra balls) and I think I'm gonna start plunging those extra balls on many tables when playing casually. Shorter game times are a good thing on many tables. I wasn't all that happy with my play aside from a good game on BK2K, but a top 10 is a top 10. Woohoo :) I'll be there for the next one, and hopefully better prepared.

Yeah. I realize I'm doing weird things to the ranking system with spotty participation, but it is kind of amusing to see how the results shake out. :) I'm also likely to miss the next one, probably traveling for both the 5/23 and 5/30 weekends.

That's great to hear. This is why I harass people to come play. Come have fun, dammit!!

Apart from Gus now earning 2 avatars, there's been different winners each time. That's what makes it different from the official FarSight tourneys, where the same people are always on top. Where's the fun in that? I'm glad you played 3 tables this time, even if you didn't want to. People want to measure up.

Speaking of, this is why we aren't having divisions. I personally like challenging myself to beat a better player, and to not relax in case someone is nipping at my heels. I got pummeled in the Put Up/Shut Up round, which happens. There are now names that if I see I'm playing against, I go "uh oh" and know I need to pull off something special. And when you do? Such a good feeling. So keep spreading the word, let's get some more playing next month. I actually spammed my entire PS3 friend list. Not saying it did any good, but I did it anyways!

I'm so mad at myself. Should've saved the celebrating for afterwords. I just played, sucked, got mad, and passed out. Next time I'm playing them earlier in the day.

I wondered what happened. I mean, you were in chat all that time. I'm wondering what Heretic's excuse was too, as he was in chat too.

Thanks for the answer!

Here's another: Reagan Dow has 16 pts in the Season to Date standings, but I don't see that he has played any tables in any tournament. I know he has signed up though... did he get 4 pts on each of 4 tables for one tourney?

Also, I see jaredmorgs as getting 32, 36, and 38 pts in the 3 tourneys, for a total of 106. But he's listed as having 107 pts. He's listed with 68 pts in the March Season to Date standings.

Thanks!

Reagan was all signed up for the last tourney, had played the tables but didn't have a chance to enter them in when a medical emergency came up that prevented him access to a computer. I told him that while I couldn't enter the scores, I could give him participation points since he actually made the effort to contact me and such.

As for Jared, um...I don't know? Xanija kept trying to point out something to me about an error regarding Jared's points, but that was going to involve me going back and trying to assemble how I kept track of things (poorly) for the first 2 tournaments. And here I was like, oh nobody will notice! Damn your vigilance! Maybe we'll see if we can spot where the error was.

Xanija is also going to work on giving me the option of posting what everyone's true rank per table was. This won't affect point totals, but I figure some of you will actually be curious to see all the same. If anybody is truly nuts, they should assemble a list of the record people have against other people when in the same group. What other crazy stats could we post? We'll have to put out baseball cards of everyone with a data sheet on the back! Topps presents the BlahCade Pro League!!

Let me explain this: When I started working on the Excel Sheet for SYT, I used the March Tournament as test to validate the outcome of the sheet. In the end we discovered 2 errors in SYT's manual calculation - one with Jared and one with Captain B. Zarre. We decided to take the correct results, even if they are different from the posted results of March and go on with these points.

The exact reason was an error on the calculation of the bonus points for beating Top Ten players. Since this was a manual calculation, I'm not really surprised about the errors, as it must have been a nightmare to get the results.
